Steam Your Garments
Steaming your clothes is easy, and you will find your own way. Here are some of our recommendations:
- Hang your garment on a separate hanger.
- Push the steam head firmly against the fabric while steaming.
- You may stretch the fabric while letting the hot steam pass through it.
- For sensitive fabrics such as silk or wool, we recommend you attach the fabric brush to the steam head (included in the package).
- To keep the fabric straight, you may want to hold the fabric while steaming. Use the heat glove to avoid burning yourself (included in the package).
Empty and Clean Your Steamer
When water is converted into steam, residue of calcium and magnesium gathers in the boiler inside your steamer. When the steamer has been used for a while, this residue forms a coating, which may reduce the efficiency of or even break your steamer. Therefore, it is important to clean your steamer. We recommend that you descale it after every 20th used water tank. Descaling liquid is an acid that dissolves magnesium and calcium. By pouring descaling liquid (or any other similar acid, e.g., white distilled vinegar) and hot water inside the boiler, you will clean your steamer of this residue.
Clean your steamer by following the steps below:
- Remove the tank and the hose.
- Empty the steamer through the steam outlet.
- In the cavity under the tank, pour 50 ml of white distilled vinegar and 100–200 ml of hot water.
- Tilt your steamer back and forth. When you tilt the steamer, you will see brown pieces of magnesium and calcium in the water.
- Pour out the water through the steam outlet or tilt the steamer to the side.
- Follow this procedure a couple of times until the water is clear and no more brown pieces can be seen in the water.
Safety Instructions
- This appliance is not intended for use by people (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or a lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

- When the steamer is in use, the front of the steam head becomes very hot. Therefore, avoid touching the steam head when the steamer is in use.
- Under no circumstances point the steam towards people, animals, or plants, etc.
- The steam hose should be held vertically and preferably 1.2 meters over the steamer to avoid water accumulating in the hose.
- Use the steamer on even floors; otherwise, the steamer may risk leaking water.

Steamery Cumulus Home Steamer-FAQ
What is the Cumulus Home Steamer and how does it work?
The Cumulus Home Steamer is a vertical clothes steamer designed as a powerful, efficient alternative to traditional ironing and washing. It uses hot steam to lift and relax textile fibers so wrinkles disappear and garments regain a fresh, smooth appearance. This steam also helps remove light odors, surface dirt, and bacteria without pressing the fibers flat like an iron does, making clothes look refreshed quickly.
What are the main benefits of the Cumulus steamer?
Cumulus provides a stronger steam output than handheld steamers, allowing you to steam continuously for over an hour thanks to its large 1.8 liter water tank. It saves time and energy by reducing the need for frequent washing and ironing, helps keep clothes fresh longer, and is suitable for most homes due to its efficient design and practical features.
Can the Cumulus Home Steamer be used on bedding and upholstery?
Yes, steaming with Cumulus is effective on bedding and upholstered fabrics. The hot steam not only smooths wrinkles but also refreshes larger textile surfaces, helping remove odors and shallow dirt from things like curtains, duvet covers, and couch fabric. It acts similarly to airing fabrics, helping them look and feel cleaner.
How long can I steam continuously with the Cumulus?
Thanks to its generous 1.8 liter water reservoir, the Cumulus steamer allows you to steam for more than an hour without needing to refill. This extended run time makes it convenient for handling multiple garments or larger textiles like bedding in one session.
Do I need to descale the Cumulus Home Steamer?
Yes. To maintain performance and prevent limescale buildup caused by mineral residues in water turning into steam, it’s recommended to descale the Cumulus every 15–30 full tanks of use. This process helps prevent performance issues and prolongs the life of the steamer. You can use Steamery’s descaler or household white vinegar to clean the internal components.
Is it difficult to assemble and use the Cumulus steamer?
No, the Cumulus Home Steamer is designed for straightforward assembly and everyday use. The included upright rod and hanger system let you hang garments easily while steaming, and the unit’s design is simple to put together, so even first-time users should find it intuitive and quick to get started with.
What accessories come with the Cumulus Home Steamer?
The Cumulus typically includes practical accessories to enhance your steaming experience, such as a heat-protective glove to shield your hand from hot steam, an attachable brush to help steam penetrate fabric fibers, and the user manual to guide safe setup and operation.
Can the Cumulus steamer help reduce washing frequency?
Yes, steaming with Cumulus refreshes clothes between washes by relaxing wrinkles, lifting odors, and reducing surface bacteria. This can help you go longer between laundry cycles, preserving fabric quality and saving water and energy over time.
What practical spaces is the Cumulus Home Steamer ideal for?
The Cumulus steamer works well in bedrooms, walk-in closets, or laundry rooms where you routinely prepare garments for wear. Its upright design and hanger system make it convenient for everyday fabric care, and its powerful steam makes it useful wherever you want clothes to look crisp and fresh without a traditional ironing setup.
