WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard: This appliance is provided with a polarized plug (one wide blade) to reduce the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a polarized outlet. How to Use

Always preheat the Warming Tray before adding hot, cooked food to the Chafing Dishes. Chafing Dishes can be preheated on the Warming Tray Base. This product is designed to keep food warm and is not meant to reheat, cook, or defrost food.

  • To keep foods hot, preheat Chafing Dishes in a warm oven before adding hot, cooked food.
  • Foods such as pizza can be kept warm when placed directly on the Warming Tray Base.
  • Do not place in an oven.

Before first use: Most heating appliances produce an odor when used for the first time. Plug into the outlet. Turn the Temperature Knob to the highest setting. Let it heat for 15-20 minutes. Turn OFF and cool completely. Wipe the Warming Tray Base with a soft, damp cloth. Wash Chafing Dishes and Lids in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry.

  1. The heating element is equipped with a variable Temperature Knob. For best results, use the maximum heat setting to quickly reach your desired temperature; then adjust to the desired temperature.
  2. The Power Indicator Light will stay on until the Warming Tray is unplugged.
  3. You may use the unit either fully assembled with Chafing Dishes or use the Warming Tray Base alone as a warming tray.
  4. If using Chafing Dishes, place the Chafing Dish Holder on the Warming Tray Base before placing the Chafing Dishes in place.
  5. Food placed on Warming Tray Base or in Chafing Dishes should be fully cooked and already hot. The warming tray is designed to keep food warm only. To retain heat and moisture, keep Lids on Chafing Dishes when not serving.
  6. Foods containing little or no liquid should be kept warm on the MIN setting and stirred periodically.
  7. If using the unit as a warming tray without Chafing Dishes, be sure to use heatproof containers.

NOTE: Base is not designed to keep large, deep pots full of food or liquid warm.

Suggestions for Use

  1. Warming Tray Base is ideal for placing shallow pans right out of the oven to keep foods warm and ready to serve.
  2. Keep entrées warm while preparing other foods or for serving.
  3. Make sure the Temperature Knob is in the OFF position before plugging the power cord into the power outlet. The indicator light will come on once plugged in. The indicator light will stay lit until the unit is unplugged.
  4. The temperature range is 140-185°F (60-85°C) at the “MAX” setting. Select an appropriate cooking temperature according to different kinds of food.
  5. Set temperature. Once the temperature has been set, the Power Indicator Light will not go off until you unplug the power cord.
  6. The temperature of food should be checked periodically with a kitchen thermometer. Food must be hot enough to prevent bacterial growth. Visit foodsafety.gov for more information.

NOTE: If it is not necessary to keep the Warming Tray Base warm, turn the Temperature Knob to the OFF position. The power indicator light will not go off until you unplug the power cord.

How many dishes can the Proctor Silex Buffet Serve hold at once?

The buffet server includes three separate serving pans, each with a 2.5-quart capacity. Together, the appliances can hold several side dishes, appetizers, or entrees simultaneously. This setup helps hosts organize meals more efficiently without needing multiple warming appliances during gatherings or special occasions.

Can you cook directly in the Proctor Silex Buffet Serve pans?

This feature reduces the need for additional cookware and simplifies serving because dishes can move straight from cooking to buffet presentation.

Does the Proctor Silex Buffet Serve have adjustable temperature controls?

Once the desired setting is selected, the appliance cycles on and off automatically to avoid overheating while still keeping dishes warm and ready for guests throughout the meal.

Is the Proctor Silex Buffet Server easy to clean?

Many users find the Proctor Silex Buffet Serve easy to clean because the stainless-steel pans are dishwasher safe. The lids can usually be wiped clean or rinsed in the sink, while the warming base only requires a damp cloth. This convenience makes post-event cleanup much less time-consuming.

Can the warming tray be used without the serving pans?
