Behringer K900FX Ultratone PA Amplifier-FAQs

What’s the difference between active and passive speakers?

Active speakers have a built-in amplifier, meaning they don’t need an external amp. Passive speakers require a separate amplifier to produce sound, as they don’t have built-in power.

Why are Behringer products generally more affordable?

Behringer uses large-scale manufacturing to reduce production costs. By focusing on core features and simplifying design, they offer quality gear at competitive prices.

What is Behringer’s direct monitoring feature?

Direct monitoring lets you listen to your input signal (e.g., microphone or instrument) in real-time with near-zero latency, bypassing the computer’s processing delay.

Can I connect multiple speakers to an amplifier?

Yes, but be cautious—adding too many speakers can affect the impedance load, potentially damaging the amplifier if the load is too high or too low.

What does “ohm” mean in speaker systems?

An ohm measures electrical resistance (or impedance). In speakers, it indicates how much resistance the speaker offers to the amplifier’s signal—this affects volume and sound quality.

What is a column PA system?

A column PA system is a compact, portable speaker setup with vertical drivers. It’s ideal for DJs, bands, and public speakers, offering easy transport and quick setup.

Do I need an amplifier or a receiver?

If you’re focused on stereo music and sound quality, go with an amplifier. If you want an all-in-one system for movies, music, and games, choose a receiver.

Is Behringer made in China?

Yes, while Behringer was founded in Germany, most of its products are now manufactured in their facility in southern China to reduce production and shipping costs.
