Grounding Instructions

For your protection, the Waring™ Commercial toasters are supplied with a molded 3-prong grounding-type plug and should be used in combination with a properly connected grounding-type outlet. Use of any other voltage or alteration of the plug or cord may damage the unit, void warranty, and may cause injury.

Special Cord Set Instructions

A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a long extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the extension cord must be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over. If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounded 3-wire cord

Operation

  1. Put the toaster on a counter or a flat, dry surface near an electrical outlet.
  2. Place bread in all the slots, set both browning controls, and push down the carriage control levers. The toasted bread will automatically rise when the bread cycle is complete.
  3. The regular slots toast both sides of the bread, while bagel slots toast only on one side.
  4. To stop toasting mid-cycle, just lift up the carriage control lever.
  5. WCT810/WCT815/WCT815B:
The sliced side of bagels and buns needs to face to the left. Arrows on the toaster indicate the toasting side.
    WCT820/WCT825/WCT825B:
The sliced side of bagels and buns should follow the diagram on the top panel of the toaster.
WCT850: To toast both sides of the bread, the switch must be positioned on the bread selection. To toast only one side, the switch must be positioned on the bagel selection. The sliced side of bagels and buns should follow the diagram on the top panel of the toaster.
CAUTION: The removable crumb tray must be completely inserted before the toaster can be operated. If the tray is removed for cleaning, ensure that it is replaced before using the toaster. The crumb tray is dishwasher safe.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Let the toaster cool before any cleaning operation.

  1. To clean the outer surface: Let the toaster cool. Unplug the power cord. Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth. Prevent liquid from running into the toaster slots. Before using, allow the toaster’s outer surface to dry.
  2. To clean the crumb tray: Remove the crumb tray and discard crumbs. Wipe the crumb tray clean and replace it in the toaster. Never operate the toaster without the crumb tray in place. The crumb tray is dishwasher safe.
  3. To remove any pieces of bread remaining in the toaster, unplug the toaster, turn the toaster upside down, and gently shake. Never insert any metal or sharp instrument into the toaster slots. This could damage the toaster and cause a safety hazard.
  4. Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.
Warning – To prevent electric shock, unplug before cleaning.

Waring Commercial WCT855 4-Slice Toaster-FAQs

How does a commercial toaster work?

Commercial toasters (like conveyor toasters) use a belt-driven system to move bread through a heating chamber, where radiant heating elements toast it evenly.

Why won’t my 4-slice toaster stay down or heat up?

Possible causes:
Faulty electromagnet (holding the lever down).
Bread crumbs blocking the mechanism (clean inside).
Broken heating element (may need replacement).

What is the best 4-slice toaster?

Top-rated options include:
Waring Commercial WCT855 (heavy-duty, commercial-grade).
KitchenAid 4-Slice Toaster (wide slots, even browning).
Dualit Classic 4-Slice (long-lasting, repairable).

How do I use a toaster properly?

Insert bread into slots.
Adjust browning control (1 = light, 6 = dark).
Press lever down to start toasting.
Never insert metal (forks, foil) into the toaster.

Can a toaster overheat?

Yes! Signs include:
Slow toasting (faulty heating element).
Burning smell (clean crumbs to prevent fire risk).

Why is only one side of my toaster working?

Check if bagel mode is on (only toasts one side).
Faulty heating element (may need repair).

What’s the difference between a toaster and a toaster oven?

Toaster: Faster for bread, bagels, pastries.
Toaster oven: More versatile (baking, reheating).

How long does a 4-slice toaster last?

Typically 6–8 years with proper maintenance (regular cleaning, no overheating).
