Instructions

The Coffee Gator Hand Drip Coffee Maker delivers rich taste and aroma while maintaining the natural oils of ground coffee. Please wash the product before first use. For your first cup, try 20g/0.7oz of medium/coarse ground coffee and 320ml/11oz of water (you can adjust these ratios to taste next time). Use a water temperature of 200°F / 94°C.

To make your brew

  1. Place the metal filter cone inside the glass carafe, then fill it with ground coffee. Make sure you place your coffee maker on a heat-proof, nonslip, stable surface.
  2. Pour hot water (not boiling) over the grounds in a slow circular motion until evenly soaked. Continue by pouring additional hot water until the cone is at full capacity.
  3. Allow the brew to drip through the metal filter into the glass carafe. Add more water as required
  4. Remove the metal filter cone. Pour coffee brew from the glass carafe into your desired cup/mug.
  5. Enjoy

Coffee Gator Pour Over Coffee Maker-FAQs

How do I use the Coffee Gator Pour Over Coffee Maker?

Place a paper or reusable filter inside the dripper, add medium-fine ground coffee, and slowly pour hot water in a circular motion. Allow the coffee to bloom for 30 seconds before continuing to pour until your cup is full.

What is the correct grind size for pour over coffee?

A medium or medium-fine grind, similar to the texture of sandbox sand, works best for pour over brewing.

What is the ideal water temperature for pour over coffee?

For best results, use hot water between 195°F and 205°F (90–96°C).

What is the coffee-to-water ratio for pour over?

The golden ratio is 1:18 (1 part coffee to 18 parts water). For a stronger taste, use 1–2 tablespoons of coffee per 6 ounces of water.

Can I reuse coffee grounds in a pour over?

No. Once brewed, the coffee grounds lose most of their oils and flavors. Using them again will result in a weak and bitter cup.

How do I bloom coffee in pour over brewing?

Blooming means pouring a small amount of hot water over the grounds to let them release gases. Let it sit for about 30 seconds before continuing your pour.

How do I make coffee with the Coffee Gator French Press?

Add coarsely ground coffee, pour hot water to saturate the grounds, stir, and let it steep for 4 minutes. Then press the plunger down gently and serve.

Can I make cold brew with a Coffee Gator?

Yes. Use a 1:8 ratio of coffee to water, mix in a jar or cold brew maker, and let it steep for 12–24 hours in the fridge. Strain before drinking.

How should beginners brew coffee with a pour over?

Start with fresh beans, grind them medium-fine, pre-wet your filter, and use the 1:18 coffee-to-water ratio. Pour slowly in circular motions for even extraction.
