How often should I grind my dog’s nails?
Most dogs need nail grinding about once a month. Dogs that walk on pavement regularly may need it less often.
How long does the grinding head last?
For home use every few weeks, the grinding stone can last 6–18 months. Professional or frequent use may require replacement sooner.
Is grinding better than clipping dog nails?
Yes, grinders are often safer because they reduce the risk of cutting into the quick. They also leave nails smooth instead of sharp.
What angle should I grind my dog’s nails at?
Hold the grinder at about a 45-degree angle, following the nail’s natural curve for safe and comfortable trimming.
Do nail grinders get hot?
Yes, if held on one spot for too long. To avoid heat buildup, touch the grinder to the nail for only a few seconds at a time.
How do I get my dog comfortable with a nail grinder?
Introduce the grinder slowly. Let your dog sniff it, then reward them. Turn it on near them before use, and gradually touch one nail at a time.
How do I clean a pet nail grinder?
