Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor-FAQs

What does the button on the Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor do?

A single press of the button checks the connection with the Aqara Hub. When pressed, the sensor immediately sends updated temperature and humidity data to the hub.

What is the purpose of the Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor?

The sensor continuously measures indoor temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure. It displays real-time and historical data in the Aqara app and can trigger other smart devices for automation, such as turning on a fan or humidifier.

Do I need a hub for the Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor?

Yes. The sensor requires an Aqara Hub for operation and communication. It does not work with hubs from other brands and should be placed within 400 inches (about 10 meters) of the hub.

What is the operating range of the sensor?

The sensor works effectively between –20°C to 50°C (–4°F to 122°F) and 0–100% relative humidity in non-condensing environments, making it suitable for indoor use.

How often does the Aqara humidity sensor update its readings?

The device reports data every hour if environmental changes are minor. If temperature changes exceed 0.5°C, humidity changes by more than 6%, or pressure shifts by 25Pa or more, data is sent instantly.

What kind of battery does the Aqara sensor use?

It uses a CR2032 coin cell battery, which is easy to replace when the power runs low.

How do I calibrate a temperature or humidity sensor?

Place your sensor next to a calibrated reference device in a stable environment. Wait until both readings are steady, then compare and adjust as needed through the app or reference values.

How do I reset the Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor?

Press and hold the sensor’s button for about 5 seconds until the LED indicator flashes three times. This resets the sensor and prepares it for re-pairing with the hub.

Where should I place the temperature and humidity sensor?

Install the sensor indoors on a wall away from heat sources, direct sunlight, air vents, or windows. For best results, mount it in an open space at about chest height.
