SYSTEM SETUP
Activating the system
Initially, the battery is not fully charged and may be in a protection or inactive mode. To activate your new system and charge the battery:
- Place the SoundLink™ speaker on a flat, stable surface.
- Attach the AC adapter for your region (more than one may be included) to the power supply.
- Plug the DC power cord on the power supply into the DC POWER connector on the SoundLink speaker.
- Plug the power supply into a live AC outlet.
Connecting your computer
- Make sure that the wireless source light on the SoundLink™ speaker is flashing. If not, press the remote wireless source button. The wireless source light should start flashing
- Make sure your computer is on and all music applications are closed.
- Lift the antenna on the SoundLink USB key to the vertical position and plug it into a USB port on your computer. Confirm that the SoundLink USB key power light turns on and starts flashing
- Wait a few seconds for your computer to recognize the SoundLink USB key. When ready, it will automatically establish a wireless link with the SoundLink
speaker. This may take up to 20 seconds the first time, much less after that. You may notice the wireless source light and USB key power light start flashing faster as the SoundLink™ system establishes a wireless connection. When both lights change from flashing to always on, and you hear a tone from the speaker, your SoundLink™ system is ready to use. - Open the music application on your computer, or navigate to an Internet radio station and play the music you want to hear. To disconnect or reconnect, press the button on the end of the SoundLink USB key. See “Using the USB key” on page 5 for more information
