NOTE: You can clean hard calcification with sediments by means of the calcification removers, which are sold for household appliances that can be purchased from the market, or vinegar.

Brentwood Appliances TS-117S Electric Turkish Coffee Maker-FAQs
Q1. How do I use the Brentwood Turkish Coffee Maker?
Fill the pot with cold water, add finely ground Turkish coffee (and sugar if desired), stir gently, then place the pot into the machine. Switch it on, and within a few minutes your Turkish coffee will be ready with its signature foam.
Q2. How is Turkish coffee made traditionally?
Traditionally, water, coffee, and sugar are combined in a cezve (ibrik). The mixture is gently heated until foam forms, then poured into cups without filtering. The Brentwood TS-117S automates this process for convenience.
Q3. How do I use a coffee maker for the first time?
Before brewing your first coffee, run a full cycle with just water (no coffee) to rinse the internal parts. This ensures a clean start and removes any factory residue.
Q4. Do I need a filter when making Turkish coffee?
No. Turkish coffee is unfiltered—grounds settle naturally at the bottom of the cup, giving it a rich and full-bodied taste.
Q5. How much coffee should I use per cup?
Use 1½ to 2 teaspoons of finely ground Turkish coffee per 3 oz (one demitasse cup) of water. Adjust sugar to taste before brewing.
Q6. Why is my Turkish coffee not foaming?
Foam depends on grind size, freshness, and ratio. If your grind is too coarse, beans are stale, or you add too much water, foam may not form properly.
Q7. Can I add milk to Turkish coffee?
Yes. Adding milk creates a creamier, milder flavor while softening bitterness. Simply replace part of the water with milk before brewing.
Q8. How many times should I boil Turkish coffee?
Traditionally, Turkish coffee is heated until foam rises, then removed from heat. This can be repeated 2–3 times for stronger flavor, but with the Brentwood electric model, the machine handles the process automatically.
Q9. How long does the Brentwood TS-117S take to brew coffee?
It takes about 3–5 minutes to brew a full pot, depending on the amount of water and coffee used.
