IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

1. Read all instructions before using this appliance.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. To protect against fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, do not immerse the cord, plugs, or the pressure cooker body in water or any other liquid.
4. Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by or near children. This appliance is not intended for use by young children without supervision.
5. Unplug the cord from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow the appliance to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
7. Using accessory attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
   8. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a special cord or assembly available from the manufacturer or your service agent.
8. Do not use outdoors.
9. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
11. Always attach the plug to the appliance first, then plug the cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, or set all controls to “off”, then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
12. Do not use this appliance for anything other than its intended use.
13. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or any hot liquids.
14. Oversized foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted into the appliance, as they are a risk of fire or electric shock.
15. Fire may occur if the appliance is covered or touching flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls, etc., while in operation.
16. To reduce the risk of electric shock, cook only in the provided removable container.
17. Preheating of the appliance is not necessary.

WARNING: This appliance generates heat and releases steam during use. Use proper precautions to prevent the risk of burns, fires, other injuries, or damage to property.

1. Take extreme caution when opening the lid after cooking. Severe burns can result from steam inside.
2. Never open the lid while the unit is in operation.
3. Do not use without the inner pot in place.
4. Do not touch the inner pot nor any heating parts immediately after use. Allow the unit to cool down completely first.

This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications, such as:

• staff kitchen areas in shops, offices, and other working environments;
• farm houses;
• by clients in hotels, motels, and other residential-type environments;
• bed and breakfast type environments.

HOW TO USE AN EXTENSION CORD

Note:

• A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
• Extension cords may be used, but caution is required to ensure safe use.
• The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
• The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop, where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
• This appliance is a grounded type; any cord set or extension cord used should be a 3-wire grounding-type cord.

HOW TO USE

Before First Use

1. Read all instructions and safeguards.
2. Remove all packaging and check that all parts and accessories are in good condition.
3. Properly dispose of plastic bags, as they can pose a risk to children.
4. Remove the inner pot from the cooker and clean it with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly before inserting back into the cooker.
5. Wash all accessories in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
6. Wipe the cooker’s body clean with a damp cloth.

WARNING: Electrical Shock Hazard. Cook only in a removable cooking pot. Never place water or food directly into the unit without the provided inner pot.

CAUTION: Burn Hazard. Steam can cause injury.

Rice & Grain

1. Using the provided rice measuring cup, add rice to the inner pot.
2. For white rice, rinse with water for 10 seconds and drain. Repeat this process at least 2 times, or until the water runs clear.
3. For white rice, fill the inner pot with water to the line that matches the number of cups.
4. Place the inner pot into the rice cooker, then place the lid on securely.
5. Plug the power cord into an available 120V AC wall outlet.
6. Press the COOK button down. The COOK indicator light will illuminate as the cooker begins heating.
7. Once rice is ready, the COOK button will automatically flip up, and the cooker will switch to WARM.
8. When finished serving, turn the cooker off by unplugging the power cord.

Steam

1. Fill the inner pot with water until it is half full.
2. Place the inner pot into the rice cooker.
3. Place food in the provided steam tray, then place the tray on the inner pot. Securely set the lid on top of the steam tray.
4. Plug the power cord into an available 120V AC outlet.
5. Press the COOK button down. The COOK indicator light will illuminate as the cooker begins heating.
6. Steam until the food is cooked to your liking. The unit automatically switches to WARM when all the water is evaporated. NOTE: If the unit switches to WARM and food needs more steaming, add water to the cooking pot and press the COOK button down to cook.
7. Remove steamed food once it is done cooking. Wear protective heat-resistant gloves to prevent injury, as the steam tray will be hot.
8. When finished steaming, turn the rice cooker off by unplugging the power cord.

NOTE: Steaming can be done while cooking rice. Use extra caution when opening the lid, as the steam can result in burns.

How to Clean

1. Unplug the unit to power off.
2. Use a neutral detergent and a soft sponge to clean the inner pot, glass cover, and steam tray.
3. Both the inside and the outside of the inner pot must be clean. Residue on the inner pot may negatively affect the performance of the rice cooker.
4. Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft rag or sponge.
5. Wash all accessories. Dry thoroughly before storing.

Notes

• Do not scrape the inner pot with sharp objects when cleaning. Doing so may damage the coating of the inner pot.
• Wipe off any residual moisture on the unit with a soft, dry cloth after each use.

CHECK BEFORE ASKING FOR SERVICE

If the cooker is not used according to the specified procedure, it may not function properly, even if it is not a malfunction. If the rice does not cook properly or the warming function seems abnormal, please refer to the checklist below. If the issue persists after checking, contact our Customer Care Center.
