About the IPL Hair Remover

The Dartwood IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Hair Remover gets rid of unwanted body hair by directing intense light at the hair root.

Safety Information

• Read this manual and the instructions carefully before using.
• Failure to follow the safety instructions may result in injury.

• Do not use it if the skin of the area you want to treat is sunburned.

• Clean the skin treatment area thoroughly.

• Use a dry cloth or an alcohol-free, damp cloth to clean the exterior.
• Keep this device away from water and other liquids.
• Store in a ventilated and dry area.
• Do not insert metal objects into the device.
• Do not disassemble or try to repair the device.
• Contact the manufacturer if the device fails to function properly.

Introduction to IPL Hair Remover

Before You Use

CAUTION: Always wear the safety glasses while using this device. Avoid looking directly at the light.

SKIN SENSITIVITY TEST

Test your skin sensitivity by placing the device over a small area of skin at level 1 intensity. Then, move to other areas and gradually increase the intensity.

Wait at least 60 seconds to make sure there are no adverse effects before you continue (redness, irritation, discomfort, etc).

How to Use

1. Clean your skin and shave the hair around the area that you want to treat.
   Note: It’s best to shave about 2 hours before treatment.
2. Clean the lamp window on the hair remover and plug it in.
3. Put on the safety glasses to protect your eyes from the IPL light.
4. Press and hold the power button on the hair remover. Then, lightly press the power button again to adjust the intensity from level 1 – 5. 
5. Press the cooling button to activate the cooling mode (recommended).
6. Place the hair remover directly on the skin you wish to treat. To activate the pulsing light, press the trigger on the handle (one flash per press). Move slowly around the whole area.
   Caution: To avoid burning your skin, do not overlap.
7. Power off and unplug the adapter after use.
8. After treatment, moisturize the treated area in 15-minute intervals. Note: Mild skin redness after treatment is normal. Wait at least two months between treatments in the same area.

Treatment Recommendations

1. For the first 3 treatments, do one treatment every week.
2. For 4 – 9 treatments, do one treatment every two weeks.
3. For maintenance: Do one treatment every two months (in any area with hair regrowth).

Note: The Device is most effective at removing black, brown, dark brown, and blonde hair from lighter skin tones. For sensitive or darker skin tones, use a lower energy level.
