  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

WARNING: KEEP BATTERIES OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN

  • Swallowing may lead to serious injury in as little as 2 hours or death, due to chemical burns and potential perforation of the oesophagus.
  • If you suspect your child has swallowed or inserted a button battery, immediately call the 24-hour Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 (in Australia) or 0800 764 766 (in New Zealand) for fast, expert advice.
  • Examine devices and make sure the battery compartment is correctly secured, e.g., that the screw or other mechanical fastener is tightened. Do not use if the compartment is not secure.
  • Dispose of used button batteries immediately and safely. Flat batteries can still be dangerous.2

CAUTION: No obvious symptoms

Unfortunately, it is not obvious when a button or coin battery is stuck in a child’s oesophagus (food pipe). There are no specific symptoms associated with this. The child might:

  • cough, gag, or drool a lot
  • appear to have stomach upset or a virus
  • be sick
  • point to their throat or stomach
  • have pain in their abdomen, chest, or throat
  • be tired or lethargic
  • be quieter or more clingy than usual or otherwise “not themselves.”
  • lose their appetite or have a reduced appetite
  • not want to eat solid food/be unable to eat solid food

These types of symptoms vary or fluctuate, with the pain increasing and then subsiding. A specific symptom of button and coin battery ingestion is vomiting fresh (bright red) blood. If the child does this, seek immediate help. The lack of clear symptoms is why it is important to be vigilant with “flat” or spare button or coin batteries in the home and the products that contain them.

General

Unpack the heater carefully and retain the packaging for possible future use, in the event of moving or returning the fire to your supplier. The choice of 750W or 1.5kW heat output is provided by the fan heater, which is located at the top of the unit. The fire incorporates a flame effect, which can be used with or without heating, so that the comforting effect may be enjoyed at any time of the year. Using the flame effect on its own requires little electricity. Before connecting the heater, check that the supply voltage is the same as that stated on the heater.

Please note: Used in an environment where background noise is very low, it may be possible to hear a sound which is related to the operation of the flame effect. This is normal and should not be a cause for concern.

CAUTION: Except for installation and cleaning described in this manual, an authorized service representative should perform any other servicing.

WARNING – THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED

This heater must be used on an AC ~ supply only, and the voltage marked on the heater must correspond to the supply voltage. Before switching on, please read the safety warnings and operating instructions.

Light Emitting Diode

This fire is fitted with LED (Light Emitting Diode) bulbs in place of traditional incandescent bulbs. These generate the same light levels as traditional bulbs, but use a fraction of the energy consumed. These LED lamps are maintenance-free and should not require replacement during the life of the product.

Operation

Controls

The switches provide a choice of heat settings. The appliance is in standby mode when the mains lead is plugged in. This is indicated by the red neon behind the flame effect screen. The two selector switches are in the ON position when the side with the markings on (i.e., I or II) is pushed.

  1. Selector switch 1 (0) – Controls the electricity supply to the appliance and flame effect. Press for “ON” & “Standby”. If both selector switches 2 and 3 are in the OFF position, the product works on flame effect only.
  2. Selector switch 2 (I) – Provides 750W heat output.
  3. Selector switch 3 (II) – Provides 1.5kW output with switch 2 also pressed.Dimplex MWDS15-AU Mini Windelsham Suite 4

Thermostat (T)

In order to maintain a certain room temperature, set the controller to “max.” Operate the appliance at full power until the required room temperature is reached. Set back the thermostatic controller until the appliance switches off with an audible “click”. This temperature will be kept almost constant by the thermostatic control, switching on and off automatically. Please note that the appliance can only be switched on when the thermostat setting is higher than the room temperature.Dimplex MWDS15-AU Mini Windelsham Suite 5

Remote Control

The maximum range of use is ~ 5 metres. WARNING: It takes time for the receiver to respond to the transmitter. Do not press the buttons more than once within two seconds for correct operation.

  1. To activate the remote control, remove the battery isolation strip, which is used to ensure your remote control reaches you fully charged.
  2. To replace the remote control battery, turn over the remote control and follow the diagram embossed on the remote control.
  3. Only use CR2025 or CR2032 size batteries.Dimplex MWDS15-AU Mini Windelsham Suite 6

To replace the battery:

  1. Remove the screw, push down on the battery cover located on the back of the remote control. Slide the battery cover open.
  2. Install 1 x 3V CR2025 or CR2032 lithium battery in the battery holder. The positive (+) side of the battery faces up.
  3. Close the battery cover and replace the screw.

Cleaning

Over time, dust can accumulate, which can affect performance. It is recommended to clean the unit at least once a month.

CAUTION: ALWAYS turn the unit OFF and disconnect the appliance from the power supply before undergoing any cleaning and maintenance.

For general cleaning, use a soft clean duster – never use abrasive cleaners. The glass viewing screen should be cleaned carefully with a soft cloth. DO NOT use proprietary glass cleaners. To remove any accumulation of dust or fluff, the soft brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner should occasionally be used to clean the outlet grille of the fan heater.

WARNING: Do not operate the product without the grille and outer glass in position, as this may affect the operation of the heater.

IMPORTANT: The control panel and other parts must not come into contact with water or any other liquids.

What is the Dimplex MWDS15-AU Mini Windelsham Suite?

The Dimplex MWDS15-AU Mini Windelsham Suite is an electric fireplace heater designed to provide both warmth and visual ambiance. It combines a built-in mantel with an LED flame effect and a fan heater, making it a stylish and functional addition to homes. The unit is fully assembled and plug-and-play, so it can be used immediately without installation, making it ideal for apartments or smaller living spaces.

How powerful is the heating performance of this electric fireplace?

This model offers a heat output of up to 1.5kW, which is suitable for heating small to medium-sized rooms. It includes two heat settings, typically around 750W and 1500W, allowing users to adjust warmth depending on their comfort needs. While it is not designed to replace central heating, it provides effective supplemental heating during colder months.

Can the flame effect be used without heat?

Yes, the LED flame effect can be operated independently of the heating function. This allows you to enjoy the visual ambiance of a fireplace throughout the year, even in warmer weather. The flame effect uses energy-efficient LED lighting, so it consumes minimal power when used on its own.

Is the Dimplex MWDS15-AU easy to install?

The unit is designed for convenience and does not require complex installation. It comes fully assembled and only needs to be plugged into a standard power outlet. This makes it a great option for renters or anyone who wants a fireplace without permanent modifications or professional setup.

Does the fireplace come with a remote control?

Yes, the Dimplex MWDS15-AU includes a remote control that allows you to adjust settings such as heat output and flame effect from a distance. This adds convenience, especially when relaxing, as you can control the unit without needing to manually access the controls on the fireplace.

What room size is the Mini Windelsham Suite suitable for?

This electric fireplace is best suited for smaller rooms, such as bedrooms, small living areas, or apartments. Its 1.5kW heating capacity provides sufficient warmth for compact spaces, but it may not be powerful enough for large open-plan areas. Its design also makes it ideal as a decorative feature in cozy environments.

Is the unit portable or fixed in place?

The Mini Windelsham Suite is designed to be portable despite its mantel-style structure. It can be moved from room to room without complicated installation or disassembly. This flexibility allows users to place it wherever heating or ambiance is needed most in the home.

Does it include thermostat control?

Yes, the unit features a built-in thermostat that helps maintain a consistent room temperature. Once the desired temperature is reached, the heater cycles on and off automatically, improving energy efficiency and comfort without requiring constant manual adjustment.

Is the Dimplex MWDS15-AU energy efficient?

The fireplace is relatively energy efficient compared to traditional heating systems. The LED flame effect uses very little electricity, and the heater allows you to select lower power settings when full heat is not required. This makes it a practical option for occasional or supplemental heating without significantly increasing energy bills.

What design and aesthetic features does this model offer?

The Mini Windelsham Suite features a traditional white finish with a granite-effect front, giving it a classic and elegant look. Its clean lines and compact size allow it to blend easily with various interior styles, from modern to traditional. The realistic LED log flame effect enhances the cozy atmosphere, making it both a decorative and functional home feature.
