- Blades are sharp. Handle cutting blades carefully when inserting or removing, emptying the bowl, and during cleaning.
- This appliance is intended for processing small quantities of food for immediate consumption. This appliance is not intended to prepare large quantities of food at one time.
- To reduce the risk of injury, never place the cutting blade on the base without first putting the bowl properly in place.
- Be certain the lid is securely locked in place before operating the appliance.
- Do not attempt to defeat the lid interlock mechanism.
- Check that the appliance is OFF
before plugging the cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn the control to OFF
; then remove the plug from the wall outlet. To unplug, grasp the plug and pull from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord. - Do not remove the cover until the blade has completely stopped rotating.
- Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended purpose.
- Be careful if hot liquid is poured into the food processor bowl, as it can be ejected out of the appliance due to sudden steaming.

WARNING Shock Hazard: This appliance has a polarized plug (one wide blade) that reduces the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a polarized outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any way or by using an adapter. If the plug does not fit, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, have an electrician replace the outlet.
The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary, an approved extension cord may be used. The electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of the appliance. How to use the food chopper
IMPORTANT: Before first use, follow instructions in “Care and Cleaning.”
- Make sure the chopper is unplugged. Lock the bowl onto the base by turning clockwise. See illustration.
- Carefully place the blade in the bowl over the center shaft. Turn until the blade slips down to the bottom of the bowl.

- Place food in the bowl.
- Place the lid on the bowl and turn the lid clockwise to lock. See illustration.
- Plug into an electrical outlet. Check to make sure the bowl and lid are locked. Ensure lid arrows are properly aligned, as the unit will not turn on without the lid securely attached. Press the Pulse button to process. To turn off, release the button. Do not remove the lid until the blade has stopped turning.

- Remove lid. Unlock the bowl by turning counterclockwise. Remove bowl from base. Carefully remove the blade.
IF CHOPPER DOES NOT START: Review the previous steps to make sure the bowl and lid are both in the locked positions.
Chopping tips
- The bowl has a capacity of 3 cups. For liquid ingredients, do not exceed 1 3⁄4 cups (MAX LIQUID FILL line on bowl).
- For more control, process by pressing the Pulse button briefly, then releasing. Check consistency and continue if desired.
- Tear bread into pieces; then process to make bread crumbs. Break crackers or cookies into pieces; then process into crumbs for use as recipe ingredients or pie crusts.
- To chop carrots, celery, mushrooms, green pepper, or onion, cut into 1-inch chunks and place in a bowl. This will result in more uniform consistency.
- Chop nuts; mince parsley, basil, chives, or garlic.
- Do not process raw meat, coffee beans, or whole, hard spices in the food chopper. This could damage the chopper.
Care and cleaning
WARNING: Electric Shock Hazard. Do not immerse the base, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
- Wash the lid, bowl, and cutting blade in hot, soapy water or in the top rack of the dishwasher. Cutting blade is sharp; handle carefully.
- Reassemble for safe storage.
- To clean the base, wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
