IMPORTANT: YOU MUST REMOVE THE BATTERY PROTECTOR TAB BEFORE USING YOUR TALKBOY F/X +. The Talkboy F/X + will not work properly if the tab is not removed.
BATTERY PROTECTOR REMOVAL:
- Need to remove the battery protector tab from your Talkboy F/X+ Pen before using.

- Pull firmly and evenly away on the Plastic tab to remove from your pen. Do not twist the tab while pulling.

- As you pull, a thin rectangular piece will be removed from your pen. This will signal that the protector has been removed, and the sound effects and recording functions of the pen will be working. If, for some reason, your pen does not seem to be working, please look at the battery replacement section of your instructions and remove the batteries to be sure that all of the protector has been removed from the battery compartment.

PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW CAREFULLY:
TO RECORD:
Press and hold the “REC” (red) button. The red record indicator light above the button will come on, indicating the unit is recording. The pen can record in any of the three positions (Fast, Std, Slow). Hold the pen 2″ away from your mouth and speak in a normal voice into the microphone, which is located above the red recording light. Release the “REC” button to stop recording. The record indicator light will go out, indicating that you are no longer recording. Repeat the above steps to record additional messages.
NOTE: When memory is full, the record indicator light will automatically go out, and no more messages can be recorded.
TO PLAY:
Press and release the “PLAY” (green) button. All recorded messages will be played in the sequence they were recorded, without interruption.
NOTE: Messages may be played as many times as you wish. After the memory is full, no more messages can be recorded unless you press the ERASE button. To MAXIMIZE memory space, record as many messages as possible before playing them back.
TO ERASE:
Press the “ERASE” (yellow) button to erase messages.
HOW TO USE THE VOICE CHANGER:
To set the VOICE CHANGER, slide the lever into position. The position of the voice changer (FAST, STD, SLOW) will affect how your message will be played back.
- If the message is recorded in the STD position, when playing back your message in
- FAST position, the message will be faster.
- SLOW position, the message will be slower.
- STD position, the message will be normal speed.
- If the message is recorded in the FAST position, when playing back your message in
- FAST position, the message will be normal speed.
- SLOW position, the message will be very, very slow.
- STD position, the message will slow.
- If the message is recorded in the SLOW position, when playing back your message in
- FAST position, the message will be very, very fast.
- SLOW position, the message will be normal speed.
- STD position, the message will be fast.

HOW TO PLAY THE SOUND EFFECTS:
There are 6 buttons on the side of the pen, and each button has a different sound effect (howl, ring, crash, horn, siren, bark). Simply press one of the six buttons to hear the different sound effects.
NOTE: Using the recording feature, you are able to record different sound effects.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT
(CAUTION: Batteries should be replaced by an adult. Do not give the tools to children for opening the battery door.)
Replace batteries when message playback is slower than normal.
NOTE: Messages will be lost when you change batteries. Use only the following batteries or their equivalents as replacements: Duracell/Panasonic/Toshiba LR44 x 3 or Eveready A76 x 3.

- Unscrew the pen.

- Unscrew the battery cover with a screwdriver. Do not mix new & old batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.

- Replace the old batteries, making sure that all three new batteries are stacked in the same direction within the battery compartment.

- Slide the batteries in, making sure the flat side (+) of each battery faces the direction of the pen mechanism.

- Screw the battery door back in place. Insert the pen mechanism back into the housing and screw the pen back together.
REPLACEMENT INK CARTRIDGES:
Included with your Talkboy F/X + is an ink cartridge to use as a replacement. This replacement cartridge is attached to this instruction sheet.

- Unscrew the black rubber piece, which includes the pen mechanism, from the pen.

- Unscrew the refill cap from the mechanism and remove the empty ink cartridge.

- Replace with an ink cartridge refill (included on the instruction sheet) and screw the refill cap back on the pen mechanism.

- Screw the pen mechanism and the pen back together.

Tiger Electronics, Inc. (TEI) warrants to the original consumer purchaser of any of its electronic games or toys that the product will be free of defects in material or workmanship for 90 days from the date of original purchase. During this 90-day warranty period, the product will either be repaired or replaced (at our option) without charge to the purchaser, when returned either to the dealer with proof of the date of purchase or to TEl when returned prepaid and insured with proof of date of purchase. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state so the foregoing limitations may not apply to you. This warranty does not cover damages resulting from accident, unreasonable use, negligence, improper service or other causes not arising out of defects in material or workmanship.
