AquaScape Features
- Continuously changing colors illuminate bubbles in shades of red, yellow, green, and blue.
- The Pump is contained in the base for an attractive, finished look.
- Contemporary, geometric design.
- Adds sparkling tranquility to any room.
- Simple assembly in minutes.
- Colorful floating sea creatures included.
Assembly and Instructions for Use
- Carefully remove your bubble light from its packaging. Be sure you have all the necessary components (Fig. 1).

- Your bubble light requires minimal assembly. Wipe off any dust with a damp cloth and thoroughly rinse out the clear acrylic portion of your light to remove any excess dust. Do not get the base or electrical cord wet.
- Align each base platform with the 6 holes of the bubble light bottom. Make sure to align so the vent in one platform is directly beneath the pump vent on the bottom of the base. Screw 6 small screws into these holes (Fig. 2).

- Place the bubble light base with attached pump on a level, sturdy surface. Align the four holes in the base of the acrylic water tank with the four prongs on the top of the base, ensuring the blue valve is closest to the clear plastic tubing (Fig. 3).

- Secure the water tank to the base with the four included large screws and washers. Fit the clear plastic tubing over the blue valve (Fig. 3 & 4).

- Fit the water tank through the hole in the base cover, and then slide the cover down the length of the water tank until it rests on the base. NOTE: Be sure your bubble light is not exposed to direct sunlight, heat, moisture, or dust.
- Align the 4 prongs on the underside of the base cover with the 4 remaining holes in the base. Screw 4 smaller screws into these holes (Fig. 5 & 6).

- Fill the bubble light to the optimum water level with distilled water. Distilled water will avoid lime residues. Sea creatures are optional but may be added after the tube is filled with water. NOTE: The optimum water level is marked on the exterior of the bubble light. To avoid algae build-up, regularly add algaecide to the water. This can be purchased at any fish supply store.
- Plug the end of the electrical cord into the included AC adapter, and then plug the adapter into a 120-volt household outlet. The bubble light is in operation once plugged into an electrical outlet and must be unplugged to be turned off. NOTE: This bubble light is designed so that it can run continuously; however, it is not recommended to leave any electrical appliance, such as this one, unattended while it is still running.
Changing the Lightbulb
Your AquaScape Bubble Light is equipped with a 20-watt, 12-volt halogen bulb. Included with each unit is one replacement bulb, which should be safely stored until needed. To change the bulb:
- Unplug the unit.
- Empty the unit of all water.
- Unscrew the 4 small screws connecting the cover to the base using a Phillips screwdriver. Lift the base cover. Unscrew the 4 large screws connecting the water tank to the base with a Phillips screwdriver and separate the water tank from the base (Fig. 6).

- Using pliers, remove the nut holding the color wheel in place and remove the color wheel, revealing the halogen bulb (Fig. 7). NOTE: Allow the bulb to cool if hot. Do not attempt to replace a hot bulb.

- Carefully pull up and away to disconnect the two springs from the metal frame, which holds the bulb in place. Remove the metal frame and set it aside (Fig. 8).

- Carefully remove the old bulb by pulling straight up (Fig. 9).

- Replace with the new bulb.
- Set the metal frame on the bulb and reattach the two springs to hold the bulb in place.
- Place the color wheel over the bulb and reattach the nut to hold the wheel in place.
- When reconnecting the water tank and base, ensure there are no kinks in the tubing and the electrical cord is not twisted. The cord should extend from the pump through the notch in the base of the unit (Fig. 10).

NOTE: Use only the type of bulb specified in this instruction manual.
Cleaning and Maintenance
- To clean your AquaScape: Never use solvents or aggressive detergents to clean your bubble light. Use only a soft, damp cloth to wipe the acrylic water chamber and base carefully and remove all residues without scratching the plastic.
- To keep water clean: To avoid algae build-up, regularly add algaecide to the water. This can be purchased at any fish supply store. Also, a humidifier and vaporizer treatment can be added to the water to help it stay clean. Be sure to periodically change the water and clean the product according to the water condition.
- Keeping the water at an optimum level: Add water periodically to maintain an optimum water level. NOTE: The optimum water level is marked with a removable sticker.
- AquaScape Storage: Unplug the bubble light from the electrical outlet, empty the water, and store it in a cool, dry place.
Troubleshooting
- If the pump fails to operate, check the following: Check the household circuit breaker or plug unit into a different outlet to make sure the water pump is getting electrical power. NOTE: Always disconnect the unit from the electrical outlet before handling the pump.
- Maintaining a desired water level: Check the water level daily in the first week to measure the rate of evaporation. Refill with water as needed.
- Weak Air Pressure: If the air pressure is weak or if there are no bubbles but the light is operating, open the base and check that the plastic tubing is not kinked or disconnected. If kinked, gently squeeze the tube back in with your fingers. If disconnected, see Figures 3 and 4 in the assembly instructions.

HoMedics BLTW-500 51-Inch Aquascape Twist Bubble Lamp-FAQs
What do the buttons on the HoMedics Bubble Lamp do?
The lamp typically includes buttons for Power, Light Mode, and Bubble/Flow Control. The indicator near the power button may alert you to issues such as low water levels.
How do I set up and use the Bubble Lamp?
Fill the tank with clean water up to the marked line, plug in the adapter, and press the Power button. Use the light mode button to switch colors and the bubble button to adjust airflow.
Why are no bubbles coming out of the lamp?
Check whether the lamp is filled to the correct level. Also ensure that the air pump is functioning and the tubing is securely connected.
Why is the light blinking or flashing red?
A flashing red indicator usually means a low water level or a sensor alert. Refill the lamp and restart it.
How often should I clean my Bubble Lamp?
Clean the lamp every 1–2 weeks to prevent algae, mineral buildup, and cloudiness.
What happens if I don’t clean the lamp?
Not cleaning can lead to bacteria growth, cloudy water, weak bubbles, and damage to the pump.
Can I add essential oils to the bubble lamp?
No. Adding oils can damage the pump, tubing, and LED components. Only use clean water.
Is it okay to use tap water in the Bubble Lamp?
Yes, but tap water may cause mineral buildup over time. Distilled or low-mineral bottled water helps keep the tank clearer.
Can I use vinegar to clean the Bubble Lamp?
Yes, mild white vinegar is safe for removing mineral deposits. Rinse thoroughly before refilling.
