Before beginning power tool operation, always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields and a full-face shield whenn needed. We recommend using a wide vision safety mask over eyeglasses or standard safety glasses with shields. Always use eye protection marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1.

Work Area Safety

  • Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
  • Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks, which may ignite the dust or fumes.

Personal Saftey

Power Tool Safety and Care

  • Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
  • Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of accidentally starting the power tool.
  • Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.

Battery Tool Use and Care

  • See the Separate Lithium-Ion Battery Manual for More Information and Warnings.
  • Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
  • Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
  • When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
  • Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts the eyes,, seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.

Service

  • Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

  • Do not allow familiarity with the inflator to cause carelessness. Remember that one careless moment is enough to cause severe injury. Before attempting to use any tool, be sure to become familiar with all of the operating features and safety instructions.
  • Do not attempt to modify this tool or create accessories not recommended for use with this tool. Any such alteration or modification is a misuse and could result in a hazardous condition leading to possible serious personal injury.

DO NOT POINT THE INFLATION PORT (C) AT YOURSELF (OR OTHERS) WHEN ATTACHING THE BATTERY PACK.

The On/Off Power Trigger with Locking Feature (B) is hard-wired and works independently of the battery pack – it can be pushed into the On position (when not attached to the battery), and this can cause the inflator to run – blow air through the Inflation Port (C) as soon as it is attached to the battery pack.

PREPARATION

Before beginning assembly othe f the product, make sure all parts are present. Compare parts with the package contents list and the hardware contents list. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble the product.

  • Make sure that your inflator’s battery adaptor is free of any residue or debris. A dirty 24-volt power connection can cause the inflator and battery to overheat. Overheating can cause damage to your inflator/battery and could cause bodily harm or injury. Disconnect the battery when not in use.
  • It is recommended that your Kobalt 24V Max Battery be fully charged to get the best performance from your inflator. If your battery is weak, the inflator will not work at its maximum output level. See Battery User’s Manual for charging and testing information.
  • This inflator is designed to inflate rafts, air mattresses, beach toys and other high-volume inflatables. Use Extra Caution when using it to clean debris from workspaces. Do not aim at yourself, others or pets.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the item you are inflating.
  • Keep the inflator away from flammable areas/liquids at all times.
  • Do not operate the inflator in wet areas.
  • Operate the inflator only with the nozzles that are included.
  • Do not leave the inflator unattended while in operation.
  • USE SAFETY GLASSES. Also, use a face or dust mask if the operation is dusty.
  • After using, turn off the power and disconnect the battery.
  • Do not carry the inflator by the tethered nozzles as damage may occur.
  • The inflator is not a toy. Keep away from children at all times.

Kobalt 24V Max Battery Pack Use

1a. To Attach Battery Pack

  1. Make sure thathe t the battery and inflator are clean and free of debris. Point the Inflation Port (C) away from yourself and others (see WARNING on page 6).
  2. Align the raised portion on the battery pack with the grooves on the bottom of the inflator, then slide the battery pack into the Inflator’s Battery Adaptor (A) as shown (See 1a).
  3. Make sure that the latch on the battery pack snaps into place and the battery pack is secured to the tool before beginning operation.

NOTICE: When placing the battery pack on the inflator, ensure that the raised rib on the battery pack aligns with the groove on the inflator, and the latches snap into place properly. Improper assembly of the battery pack can cause damage to internal components.

1b. To Detach Battery Pack

  1. Press the On/Off Power Trigger (B) to turn the inflator Off
  2. Press the Battery-Release Buttons (R) to release the battery.
  3. Pack (See 1b). Pull forward on the battery pack to remove it from the inflator.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS – INFLATION

CAUTION

  • This inflator is not a toy – do not aim at yourself or others.

  • The High-Volume Inflator is designed for air mattresses, rafts, beach toys and other high-volume inflatables. Use Extra Caution when using it to clean debris from workspaces. Do not aim at yourself, others or pets.
  • Read and follow all manufacturers’ instructions and warnings for the item you are inflating.

2. To Inflate

  • Make sure that Inflation Port (C) is pointed away from yourself and others (see WARNING on page 6).
  • Firmly snap the Kobalt 24V Max Battery into place (see page 7) for more details.
  • Select the appropriate size nozzle from the Tethered Nozzle Set (F) and connect to the Inflation Port (C) by twisting to lock it in place (see 2a below).
  • Insert the tip of the nozzle into the item you are inflating, making sure that the nozzle fits into the valve snugly to prevent air loss.

CAUTION

  • This inflator is not a toy – do not aim at yourself or others.
  • Make sure that the Deflation Port (D) is clear of obstructions when inflating. The Deflation Port is the air intake,  and blocking it will cause poor performance and can damage the motor.
  • Note: If you are not using the nozzles to inflate, do not store them on the Deflation Port (D) since doing so will limit air intake and can affect performance and damage the motor.
  • Press the On/Off Power Trigger (B) to lock the inflator into the On position and begin inflating.
  • Note: Since most high-volume inflatables require very low air pressure, this inflator does not have an air pressure gauge –; is designed to inflate to the correct “feel”.
  • Press the On/Off Power – Trigger (B) to turn the inflator off when finished.
  • Remove the nozzle and battery. Store all in a clean and dry environment (see page 10).

3. To Deflate

  • Make sure that the Inflation Port (C) is pointed away from yourself and others. (see WARNING on page 6)
  • Firmly snap the Kobalt 24V Max Battery into place (see page 7) for more details.
  • Select the appropriate size nozzle from the Tethered Nozzle Set (F) and insert it into the Deflation Port (D). Nozzles do not lock into the Deflation Port (D) – no twisting is required (see 3a below).
  • Insert the tip of the nozzle into the item you are deflating.
  • Press the On/Off Power Trigger (B) to lock the inflator into the On position and begin deflating.

CAUTION:

  • When the item is empty (there is no more air to remove),,he inflator’s air intake is bloblockedd and motor damage can occur. Turn the Inflator Off Immediately.
  • When deflating, make sure that the Inflation Port (C) is clear. The Inflation Port is the air exhaust, and blocking it will cause poor performance and can damage the motor.
  • Press the On/Off Power – Trigger (B) to turn the inflator off when finished.
  • Remove the nozzle and battery. Store all in a clean and dry environment (see page 10)

CARE MAINTENACE

  • Remove the 24V Battery Pack and then wipe the plastic parts of the inflator clean using mild soap and warm water. Do not get moisture or water into the interior, moving parts or the battery adaptor. (Allow entire inflator to dry completely before use.)
  • Read and follow the separate Battery Instructions for care and maintenance of Kobalt 24V Max Lithium Ion Batteries.

TROUBLESHOOTING

WARRANTY

For five (5) years from the date of purchase, the Inflator is warranted, and for three (3) years frothe m the date of purchase the battery & charger are warranted for the original purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship. This guarantee does not cover damage due to abuse, normal wear, improper maintenance, neunauthorisedepair/alteration, or expendable parts and accessories expected to become unusable after a reasonable period of use.

If you think your product meets the above guarantee criteria, please return it to the place of purchase with valid proof of purchase and the defective product will be repaired or replaced at no charge. This guarantee gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
