To order replacement or additional parts and accessories, visit ninjakitchen.co.uk.

BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Remove and discard any packaging material, stickers, and tape from the unit.
  2. Remove all accessories from the package and carefully read the manual before use. Please pay particular attention to operational instructions, warnings, and important safeguards to avoid any injury or property damage.
  3. Wash the grill and flat plate with hot, soapy water and dry thoroughly. NEVER submerge the main unit in water.
  4. We recommend turning the unit on and running it at 260°C for 10 minutes without adding food. Make sure the area is well ventilated. This removes any packaging residue and odour traces that may be present. This is completely safe and not detrimental to the performance of the grill.

HOW TO HAVE A LOW SMOKE EXPERIENCE

Always use the recommended grill settings. Our chef-designed temperature settings maximise grill flavours and textures while minimising smoke.Ninja GR101 Griddle and Indoor Grill User Manual 2

Applying oil to food or the grill, or a flat plate, can improve nonstick performance during cooking. We recommend using oils with high smoke points. For best results, Sunflower, Refined Coconut, Avocado, Vegetable, or Rapeseed oils are recommended. Olive oil, butter, margarine, or aerosol cooking sprays are NOT recommended.

COOKING WITH THE NINJA SIZZLE GRILL AND FLAT PLATE

  1. To install the grill or flat plate, position it over the base with the grease trap toward the front. Place the plate down, ensuring the sides align with the exterior of the base.
  2. Make sure the unit is plugged in, then turn the dial to the desired temperature. The power indicator light will illuminate.
  3. Allow the grill to preheat with the lid closed for 7 minutes before cooking.
  4. When the preheat is complete, open the lid and place the ingredients on the grill plate.
  5. Once ingredients are cooked to satisfaction, remove from the grill and turn the dial until it clicks into the “OFF” position. The power indicator light will turn off.
  6. To remove the grill or flat plate for cleaning, ensure the dial is in the “OFF” position, and the unit is unplugged and has had sufficient time to cool. Open the lid and lift the cooking plate straight up by grabbing the vertical walls along the edge of the cooking surface.

CLEANING YOUR GRILL AND FLAT PLATE

The unit should be cleaned thoroughly after each use. Always let the appliance cool before cleaning.

  1. Unplug the unit from the socket before cleaning. Keep the lid open after removing your food to allow the unit to cool quickly.
  2. To prolong the nonstick coating of the grill and flat plate, we recommend handwashing in warm, soapy water, then air or towel-drying all parts. We don’t recommend putting the grill and flat plate in the dishwasher. The splatter lid is dishwasher safe.
  3. If food residue or grease is stuck on the grill, flat plate, splatter lid, or any other removable part, soak it in warm, soapy water before cleaning.
  4. To clean around the heating element of the grill, use a damp, soapy cloth, then wipe with a clean, damp cloth and dry thoroughly. NOTE: NEVER use abrasive tools or cleaners. NEVER immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid. Do not place in dishwasher.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

Why is the unit emitting smoke?

When using the grill, always select the recommended temperature. Recommended temperatures can be found in the Quick Start Guide. Make sure the splatter lid is down.

INSTALLING AND REMOVING THE SPLATTER LID

  1. After allowing the unit to cool, remove the lid by opening it until it is approximately vertical (Figure 1). Then lift the lid straight up out of the hinge base.
  2. To install the lid, hold it vertically with the handle facing up and the hinge pivoting over the hinge base (Figure 2). Ninja GR101 Griddle and Indoor Grill-FAQs

Is the Ninja GR101 indoor grill worth buying?

Yes. It grills, sears, and sizzles a wide variety of foods quickly and evenly, making it a versatile and valuable addition to your kitchen.

What is the Ninja GR101 Sizzle Grill & Flat Plate?

It’s a multifunctional appliance that combines a grill and a flat griddle plate, allowing you to cook burgers, steaks, vegetables, pancakes, and more.

What is the difference between a grill and a griddle?

Grills cook at higher temperatures (around 400°F/204°C) and create sear marks, while griddles cook evenly at lower temperatures (around 350°F/177°C) and are ideal for flat foods like pancakes or eggs.

Can I cook eggs or pancakes on the Ninja griddle?

Yes, the flat griddle plate is perfect for eggs, pancakes, and other foods that require full contact with a flat surface.

Can I cook large or irregularly shaped items on the griddle?

Not ideal. Items like whole chickens or thick roasts may not cook evenly on a flat griddle; use the grill or oven for these.

Can I use aluminum foil or parchment paper in the Ninja grill?

Yes. Aluminum foil can be used like an outdoor grill, and parchment paper works well for baking or reheating without creating a mess.

Can I use olive oil in the Ninja GR101?

Yes, use oils with a high smoke point such as light olive oil or avocado oil. Avoid extra virgin olive oil for high-heat cooking.

Can I cook frozen food in the Ninja GR101?

Yes. Frozen items like fries, chicken, or vegetables can be cooked directly without thawing.

How long does a Ninja GR101 or Ninja Foodi grill last?

With regular cleaning and proper use, Ninja grills typically last 5–10 years depending on frequency of use.
