Optonica IP65 LED Milky-Lens Floodlight- FAQs

Why is my LED floodlight flashing or flickering?

Flashing usually happens due to voltage fluctuations, loose wiring, or an unstable power supply. If flickering occurs when other appliances turn on, inconsistent voltage is the most likely cause.

Why has my LED floodlight suddenly become dim?

The most common reason is a voltage drop. When the supplied voltage falls below the rated level, the LED’s brightness decreases instantly.

What should I do if my LED floodlight is not turning on?

Check the power source, wiring connections, and compatibility with dimmer switches. Faulty wiring, moisture exposure, or extreme outdoor temperatures can also prevent operation.

Can the bulb be replaced in an LED floodlight?

No. LED floodlights use integrated LED chips, not replaceable bulbs. If the LED fails, the entire fixture usually needs repair or replacement.

Why do LED floodlights fail earlier than expected?

Frequent power surges, unstable voltage, overheating, or poor-quality drivers can stress internal components and lead to premature failure.

What happens when an LED floodlight reaches the end of its life?

LEDs don’t burn out suddenly like traditional bulbs. Instead, they slowly lose brightness until light output drops to about 70% of the original level.

How many watts does a typical LED floodlight use?

For residential outdoor use, 20–30 watts is common, producing around 2,000–3,000 lumens—equivalent to a 150–200W traditional floodlight.

How long do LED floodlights last?

Most LED floodlights last between 30,000 and 50,000 hours, which can mean 10–15 years of normal use with minimal maintenance.
