Pelonis 1500W-II Disc Furnace
MODEL: 1500W
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
- AUTOMATIC mode: Maintains temperature automatically in the room when switched to HEAT, the unit maintains a constant, room temperature by continuously varying heat delivery without cycling on and off and without causing hot and cold periods.
- MANUAL mode: Provides manual control of fan speed When switched to HEAT the power output in watts can be estimated from the table shown on the back unit label. The variation in power output is due to possible differences in the ambient temperature. In the FAN position non-heated air circulation can be maintained by manual control of the fan speed
- TEMPERATUREISPEED CONTROL: Dial the desired room temperature in AUTOMATIC mode or the desired fan speed in MANUAL mode
- HEAT: Switch to HEAT and adjust the TEMPERATURE/SPEED control for desired operation in AUTOMATIC or MANUAL modes.
- FAN: Switch to FAN and MANUAL modes for non-heated air circulation that is controlled by the TEMPERATURE/SPEED control.
- OFF: The unit is off when the switch is in the middle position.
- REMOVABLE FILTER: The filter collects dirt and dust from air circulating through the unit. To clean the filter, rinse it in warm water and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling
- TIP-OVER SWITCH: Do not place the unit in a tilted position as it Will automatically turn the fan off when it is tilted forward sufficiently.
- PLACEMENT OF UNIT IN ROOM: For most efficent heating, place the unit on the floor with the sensor fully extended and approximately 4 feet away from any w<\11.The sensor on the cord will determine the temperature of the room at that point. It will not sense temperatures elsewhere in the room being heated. If the thermostat is too close to cold drafts, the unit will continuously operate at maximum.
- STORAGE: Coil cord and secure with plastic fastener on cord and store heater in its original packaging, in a safe place where connecter and cord will not be damaged
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
REGULAR CLEANING:
- As dust collects on the air filter at the rear of the unit, the filter should be removed, rinsed out in arm water, allowed to dry completely, and reinstalled. Clean filter regularly.
VACUUMING HEATING ELEMENTS:
Some dust will pass through the air filter, and collect on the ceramic heating elements. Clean unit regularly for optimum airflow and performance. To clean, follow the steps listed below:
- Disconnect power supply at source by removing plug from power outlet.
- Loosen screw on backplate. It is not necessary to remove the screw.
- Turn, lift and remove backplate using handle at bottom.
- Connect universal cleaning attachment, included with your pelonis disc furnace ™ to your vacuum cleaner.
- Remove dust and dirt by gently inserting vacuum attachment past fan blades to the back of the heating discs.
- Re-install backplate.
- Gently tighten screw on backplate.
- WARNING: Do not use the unit in Chlorine Gas, Sulphur Dioxide, Inert Gas or other reducing gas atmospheres. Use in such’ environments will result in obvious darkening/discoloration of the heating elements and the heating elements will eventually deteriorate and arcing may result.
5 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
- Del-Rain Corporation, referred to hereafter as DR, warrants as limited herein to the original purchaser of retail that each new pelonis disc Iumaca'” shall be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of 5 years from the date of original purchase.
- This 5 years warranty is limited to the ceramic discs, fan and fan motor and electronic control circuit board. In the event of malfunctions or failure of a pelon is disc furnace” simply deliver or send postage prepaid, within the warranty period of 5 years, the heater to DR at the address specified below. DR reserves the right to inspect the claimed defective part or part to determine if the defect or malfunction complaint is covered by this warrant Upon confirmation that the malfunction or failure is the result of a defective covered by this warranty, DR shall, within sixty (60) days after receipt of the product, at its option, repair and/or replace the defective part or parts free of charge. This warranty shall only cover defects arising from normal usage. DR assumes no responsibility whatever if the pelonis disc furnace” shall fail during the warranty period by reason of:
- Misuse, negligence, physical damage or accidents.
- (2) Lack of maintenance (see instructions for proper maintenance).
- (3) Repair by any unauthorized party during the warranty period.
- (4) Damage caused by connection to an improper input voltage (see specifications label for proper voltage).
Please note that this new Thermostatically Controlled Model operate some what differently than other Pelonis models:
- 1) Temperature Sensor – When unpackaging the Model 1500W-II, the temperature sensor probe {located on cord) must be extended fully out to the rear. This sensor tells the unit the temperature of the incoming air;
- 2) Testing your Model 1500W-II – Set the thermostat at maximum (80°F) for the greatest heat flow. If set at a temperature close to exisiting room temperature, the fan speed will drop to low rpms and there will be little heat flow from the unit;
- 3) Warm Case – In normal operation, the Model 1500W-II will run “cool” at hig-her rpms until the room temperature approaches that temperature set on the unit. When room temperature is achieved, the fan speed decreases to approximately 200 to 400 rpms. As the heating elements are always “on” and maintain a constant temperature of approximately 380oF, at low fan speeds the case of the unit will become warm or even hot to the touch, but never burning hot. Even when the unit is warm or hot, the unit can be comfortably and safel picked up by the integral “handle” (the top back lip of the case).
- Energy Conservation – To achieve maximum energy conservation, reduce the setting of your existing heating system thermostat to lower than normal settings, such as 55° to 60°, and use your Pelonis supplementary zone heater to achieve comfortable temperatures in only those rooms being occupied.

Pelonis 1500W-II Disc Furnace -FAQs
How do I use a Pelonis heater?
Plug the heater into a grounded 120V outlet with the power and setting control in the “OFF” position. Turn it “ON” by rotating the control clockwise to your desired setting (LOW, HIGH, LOW & OSC, or HIGH & OSC). The power indicator light will illuminate.
How do I set the timer on a Pelonis heater?
Press the timer button (instead of the power button) and set the number of hours from the current time for the heater to turn on. For example, if it’s 11 PM and you want the heater to turn on at 5 AM, set the timer for 6 hours.
Does the Pelonis heater turn off automatically?
Yes, the heater has safety features like automatic shut-off if it overheats or tips over. It also has an indicator light to show when it’s on.
How does the heater work?
The heater generates heat through burning propane or natural gas in the furnace’s burner. The heat passes through a heat exchanger, warming the air blown over it by the system’s fan.
What is Eco Mode on a Pelonis heater?
In Eco Mode, the heater alternates between 1500W and 900W settings. Once the room reaches your set temperature (e.g., 75°F), it reduces to the lower wattage to maintain the temperature, switching back to higher wattage if the temperature drops.
Can heaters turn on automatically?
Yes, single-pole thermostats can turn the heater on automatically when the room temperature drops below a set minimum point.
How should I set my heater at night?
To promote comfortable sleep, set the thermostat around 65°F. Adjust slightly as needed for personal preference.
Is it safe to run a heater all night?
While modern heaters have safety features, running them all night poses some risks, such as overheating if near flammable materials. Additionally, it may increase electricity usage. Use heaters with auto shut-off features and ensure a safe placement.
How much space can a 1500W oil-filled heater warm?
A 1500W heater can warm spaces up to approximately 150 square feet, making it suitable for medium-sized rooms, offices, or kitchens.
Why does my heater only run for 5 minutes?
Short cycling could be due to dirty or clogged filters. Replace filters every few months to ease the system’s burden. A faulty pressure switch may also cause the issue and should be inspected by a professional.
