Dimplex DCPF40WD 40cm Digital Pedestal Fan-FAQs
What are the main specifications of the Dimplex DCPF40WD 40cm Digital Pedestal Fan?
The Dimplex DCPF40WD is a 40 cm pedestal fan featuring a brushless DC motor with low power consumption (~25 W), 12 speed settings, and three modes (Normal, Natural, Sleep). It includes automatic oscillation, adjustable height & tilt head, a digital display, and a 1–12 hour timer. A remote control is included for convenient operation.
How does the digital control and remote work on this fan?
The fan uses a digital control panel that lets you view and adjust speed, modes, and timer settings easily. The remote control (batteries not included) lets you operate the fan from across the room — ideal for adjusting airflow without getting up. This setup makes it more convenient than basic dial-controlled fans.
What modes and speed settings are available?
The DCPF40WD has 12 different speed settings for precise airflow control, from gentle breezes to strong cooling. It also offers three modes — Normal, Natural (simulates varying breezes), and Sleep (quieter and gentler) — giving flexibility for comfort, efficiency, and quieter night use.
Is this fan energy efficient?
Yes — with a 15 W brushless DC motor, this pedestal fan consumes far less power than many high-velocity AC-motor fans, meaning lower running costs and improved energy efficiency while still providing effective airflow.
How do I use the timer feature?
The fan includes a 1–12-hour timer. You can set it to run for a specific period and then automatically switch off. This is handy for saving energy overnight or scheduling cooling before you sleep or leave the room. Each press of the timer button increases the time in one-hour increments.
Can I adjust the fan height and direction?
Yes — the DCPF40WD has an adjustable height stand that can be extended to your preferred level, and the fan head tilts vertically so you can direct airflow exactly where you need it. Combined with horizontal oscillation, it provides broad and flexible cooling coverage.
How loud is the fan in operation?
Noise levels depend on speed setting and mode. On lower settings like Sleep, it operates quietly enough for bedroom use. Higher speeds will produce more airflow noise, which is typical for pedestal fans with powerful airflow options. The brushless motor design helps keep sound reasonable. (General fan behavior based on mode and speed.)
Is this fan suitable for all rooms?
Yes — it’s designed for indoor residential use and works well in bedrooms, living rooms, and offices. The adjustable height, multiple modes, and timer make it versatile for different room sizes and comfort needs. As with all fans, performance is best in well-ventilated spaces.
How should I maintain and clean this fan?
Turn off and unplug the fan before cleaning. Wipe the exterior and blades with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. Ensure the grille and motor vents stay clear for better airflow. Regular cleaning improves efficiency and extends motor life. Avoid water or abrasive cleaners. (General care advice based on electric fan norms.)
Does this fan come with a warranty?
Warranty terms vary by region and retailer, but many Dimplex pedestal fans come with a 2-year domestic warranty on manufacturing defects. Check your purchase documentation for exact details, warranty duration, and service procedures.
