Sunvie Low Voltage Landscape Light-FAQs
What is low voltage landscape lighting?
Low voltage landscape lighting uses 12V power, making it safer, easier to install, and energy-efficient for residential outdoor spaces.
Are Sunvie landscape lights dimmable?
Yes, Sunvie RGBW lights offer 16 colors, 4 modes, and 3 brightness levels controllable via remote.
Do I need a transformer for low voltage lights?
Yes, a transformer reduces standard 120V to 12V, which is necessary for low voltage systems.
Where should I place landscape lights?
Place lights in areas you want to highlight—paths, garden beds, walls—while keeping clearance for proper illumination and safety.
What gauge wire is best for low voltage lighting?
12/2 gauge wire is commonly used, suitable for most residential installations and helps prevent voltage drop.
How far can I run low voltage lights?
Follow the 100/100 rule: maximum 100 feet of 12-gauge cable per 100 watts of lighting to avoid dimming.
Are low voltage lights safe?
Yes, 12V systems are much safer than high-voltage alternatives and suitable for residential use.
How long do low voltage lights last?
LED low voltage lights can last up to 50,000 hours, while standard low voltage bulbs last around 6,000 hours.
