What is the purpose of the Arlo SmartHub?
The Arlo SmartHub creates a secure, separate network for your Arlo cameras. This dedicated frequency improves security and is ideal for shared Wi-Fi networks.
How do I turn on the Arlo base station?
Press the On-Off button located at the back of the base station. The Power and Internet LEDs will turn green within about two minutes, indicating it’s ready for use.
How many cameras can the Arlo SmartHub support?
The SmartHub allows simultaneous streaming of up to five cameras. To view a sixth camera, you’ll need to pause one of the active streams.
What is the function of the Arlo base station?
The base station enables secure communication with Arlo cameras via a dedicated low-power wireless network. It’s essential for connecting and operating your Arlo devices.
Does Arlo connect directly to Wi-Fi or require a base station?
Arlo cameras can connect either to the SmartHub/Base Station or directly to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, depending on your setup preferences.

Yes, you must connect the SmartHub/Base Station to your router via an Ethernet cable before powering it on. Powering it on first may cause connection issues.
