IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING YOUR UPRIGHT VACUUM.

Always connect to a polarized outlet (one slot is wider than the other). Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before conducting maintenance. When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should be observed, including the following:

  • Do not leave the vacuum cleaner when it is plugged in. Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before servicing.
  • Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
  • Do not allow it to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
  • Do not use for any purpose other than described in this User’s Guide. Use only the manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
  • Do not use with a damaged cord or plug. If the appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, have it repaired at an authorized service center.
  • Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run the appliance over the cord. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
  • Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
  • Do not handle the plug or vacuum cleaner with wet hands.
  • Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep openings free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.
  • Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of the body away from openings and moving parts.
  • Turn off all controls before plugging or unplugging the vacuum cleaner.
  • Use extra care when cleaning stairs.
  • Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible materials (lighter fluid, gasoline, kerosene, etc.) or use in areas where they may
    be present.
  • Do not use a vacuum cleaner in an enclosed space filled with vapors given off by oil-based paint, paint thinner, some moth-proofing substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapors.
  • Do not use to pick up toxic material (chlorine bleach, ammonia, drain cleaner, etc.).
  • Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
  • Do not use without filters in place.
  • Do not pick up hard or sharp objects such as glass, nails, screws, coins, etc.
  • Use only on dry, indoor surfaces.
  • Keep the appliance on a level surface.
  • Do not carry the vacuum cleaner while it is running.
  • Unplug before connecting or disconnecting the Pet TurboEraser® Tool.

WARNING

  • Before using your vacuum, make sure the dirt container is in the locked position and that all filters, both pre- and post-filters, are in place. DO NOT operate your vacuum without these filters.
  • Plastic film can be dangerous. To avoid the danger of suffocation, keep away from children.
  • Do not plug in your vacuum UNTIL you are familiar with all instructions and operating procedures.
  • To reduce the risk of electrical shock, turn the power switch off and disconnect the polarized plug from the electrical outlet BEFORE performing maintenance or troubleshooting checks.

  1. Unplug the vacuum, turn it over, and unscrew six (6) Philips head screws to remove the bottom cover. Lift the brush straight out.

  3. Replace the brush roll and belt by looping the belt over the motor shaft and the brush roll. Line up the end caps and pull the brush forward into place. This will stretch the belt. Return the bottom cover and replace the screws.

  2. Remove brush roll, belt, and paddle wheel. Inspect for damages and replace if necessary.

Bissell 2252 CleanView Swivel Upright Bagless Pet Vacuum- FAQs

What carpet height setting should I use?
For low-pile carpets or bare floors, use the lowest setting. Medium-pile carpets require a medium setting, while high-pile and shag carpets work best with the highest setting. Adjust to the lowest practical setting for optimal cleaning.
How do I turn on the Bissell CleanView Swivel Pet Vacuum?
Unwrap the power cord and plug it into a grounded outlet. Press the power pedal and recline the vacuum to start cleaning. Keep in mind that the brush roll continues to spin even when the vacuum is upright.
How do I lower the vacuum for cleaning?
Press the recline pedal once to lean the vacuum back for regular cleaning. Press it a second time for a lower angle. To return it to the upright position, simply lift it back up until it locks.
How does the vacuum brush roll work?
The brush roll consists of a belt, roller, and sometimes a small motor. As the roller spins, stiff bristles agitate and loosen dirt trapped in carpet fibers, making it easier to suction up pet hair, dust, and debris.
Can I use the Bissell CleanView on hardwood floors?
Yes, the vacuum is designed to work on multiple surfaces, including hardwood floors. It features Scatter-Free Technology to minimize debris scattering on hard floors.
Is the Bissell CleanView effective on carpets?
Yes, it delivers powerful suction to remove pet hair, dirt, and dust allergens from carpets, upholstery, stairs, and hard floors.
Are the vacuum filters washable?
Some filters are disposable and require regular replacement to maintain suction power. Others, made from non-woven synthetic materials, can be washed and reused.
How do I turn off the brush roll?
There is a Brush Roll ON/OFF button located below the power button. The brush roll automatically turns on when the vacuum is in stick mode.
Is BISSELL a steam cleaner?
BISSELL offers steam mops and wet-dry vacuums that remove 99.9% of germs and bacteria, providing a deeper clean than traditional mopping.
