Control & Connection Locations
- Level Adjustment:
- This control adjusts the amplifier’s input sensitivity. Input sensitivity is variable from 200 Millivolts to 6 Volts. Turn the control clockwise to increase sensitivity. Turning the control counter-clockwise will decrease sensitivity. This control is not a volume control for the amplifier. The amplifier can be driven to full power with a wide range of signal levels. A low-level signal will require increased sensitivity for full power. A high-level signal will require decreased sensitivity.
RCA Inputs:
- These inputs are for signal cables from a source unit. Always use high-quality RCA cables.
GND (Chassis ground):
- To avoid unwanted ignition noise caused by ground loops, it is essential that the amplifier be grounded to a clean, bare metal surface of the vehicle chassis.
- +12V (Battery positive):
- Due to the power requirements of the Amplifier, this connection should be made directly to the positive +) terminal of the battery. If needed, use extension wires of a minimum 14 gauge for connection to the battery. For safety measures, install an additional 7.5A in-line fuse (not included) within 8″ (20 cm) of the battery.
- Remote Turn-On Input:
- Connect to the remote turn-on wire of the head unit. The amplifier is turned “ON” remotely when the vehicle’s head unit is turned “ON”.
- Power Indicator LED:
- This Green LED will illuminate when the amplifier is turned “ON

BOSS Audio Systems CE102 2-Channel Car Amplifier-FAQs
How do I pair my BOSS Audio system via Bluetooth?
Go to your device’s Bluetooth settings, scan for available devices, and select “BOSS Audio.” Accept the connection request to complete pairing.
How does a car audio amplifier work?
An amplifier increases a weak line-level signal from your head unit, making it strong enough to move the speaker cone and produce sound. Since amplifiers generate heat, proper heat management is crucial in their design.
How do I turn on my BOSS Audio system?
Press the POWER/MUTE button to turn it on. To power it off, press and hold the button for two seconds.
How do I reset my BOSS Audio system?
If the unit is malfunctioning or after replacing the car battery, reset it by removing the front control panel and pressing the RESET button for 8 seconds using a pointed object.
What is the basic principle of an audio amplifier?
An amplifier boosts the input signal to a higher magnitude while preserving its original characteristics. Negative feedback is used to maintain sound quality and stability.
How do car audio systems produce sound?
Speakers convert electrical signals into mechanical energy, moving the speaker cone to create vibrations in the air, which we perceive as sound.
How do I adjust bass on my BOSS Audio system?
Press the SEL button on the unit or remote to cycle through audio settings, including BASS, TREBLE, BALANCE, FADER, and EQ presets like ROCK, POP, or FLAT.
What does RPT mean on a car stereo?
RPT (Repeat) mode replays the current track continuously. Press the RPT button again to disable the feature.
