BUYDEEM LP55US32 Counter-Top Slow Cooker-FAQS
What products does Buydeem sell?
Buydeem offers air fryers, toaster ovens, coffee machines, cookware, drinkware, food containers, food steamers, kettles, and slow cookers.
Can I put the slow cooker on a countertop?
Yes, but place it on a heat-resistant surface like granite or tile. You can use a trivet to protect wooden or delicate surfaces.
Is 4 hours on high the same as 8 hours on low?
Roughly, yes. Low takes about 7–8 hours to reach a simmer (~210°F), while high reaches it in 3–4 hours.
Can I put frozen meat in the slow cooker?
It’s best to thaw meat first. Frozen meat can cool other ingredients and take longer to reach a safe temperature.
How much electricity does the slow cooker use?
An average slow cooker uses about 1.3 kW over 8 hours (~162.5 W per hour), which is lower than most ovens.
What should I avoid cooking in a slow cooker?
Avoid lean, tender cuts of meat, seafood, alcohol, milk or cream, delicate vegetables, and fresh herbs as they can overcook or spoil.
Can I leave the slow cooker on while away from home?
Yes. Slow cookers use low wattage and are designed to cook safely while you’re out. However, avoid leaving cooked food on warm for more than 6 hours.
Should I preheat the slow cooker?
Preheating for at least 20 minutes helps stabilize cooking and speeds up the simmer process, similar to preheating an oven.
Do I need to add water or liquid?
Most recipes release enough liquid from ingredients, but ensure the bottom is covered to prevent burning. For soups or stews, add enough liquid to just cover ingredients.
Should I brown meat or onions before slow cooking?
Yes. Browning enhances flavor, improves color, and reduces grease. Always sauté onions before adding to prevent raw taste.
