Update via Insta360 app:

Connect GO 3 to the Insta360 app. The app will notify you if there is a new firmware update available. Follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware. If the camera firmware update fails, check the following and try the update again:

  1. Ensure GO 3 is in the Action Pod and close to your phone(remove the red sticker on the back of the GO3 camera).
  2. Keep the Insta360 app running and do not exit or minimize it.
  3. Ensure your phone has a strong and stable network connection.

Waterproofing

  2. The Action Pod is IPX4 water-resistant only when GO 3 is installed. It protects against light rain and snow, but should not be submerged in water or used for activities involving high-velocity water, such as action sports during rainy weather, surfing, and waterskiing.
  3. For extended underwater use, use the GO 3 Dive Case. Both the camera and the Action Pod are waterproof to 196ft (60m) with the GO 3 Dive Case.
  4. After using the camera underwater, dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth. Do not place it in the Action Pod until the magnetic Charging Points are completely dry.
Note: After every use in seawater, soak the camera in fresh water for 15 minutes, gently rinse it, and then dry it thoroughly.

To maintain the waterproofing of GO 3:

Insta360 GO 3 Camera-FAQs

How does the Insta360 GO 3 work for beginners?

The Insta360 GO 3 is designed to be extremely simple for beginners. You just press the shutter button to start recording, and the camera captures stabilized video automatically. It uses smart features like horizon leveling and AI editing, so you don’t need advanced skills. After recording, you can quickly edit and export clips through the Insta360 app for easy sharing.

How do you start recording on the Insta360 GO 3?

Starting a recording is quick and convenient. You can press the camera button once to power it on and begin recording instantly using QuickCapture. When connected to the Action Pod, you can also use the touchscreen to select modes and start recording. This makes it ideal for capturing spontaneous moments without navigating complicated menus.

What are the best video settings for Insta360 GO 3?

For most users, shooting in 2.7K resolution at 30fps offers the best balance between quality and battery life. If you want smoother motion or slow-motion effects, you can switch to higher frame rates. Enabling high bitrate and keeping ISO low in good lighting will help improve clarity and overall video quality.

Can the Insta360 GO 3 be used while charging?

Yes, the camera can be used while connected to a power source. When placed inside the Action Pod, it can continue recording while powered externally. However, continuous use while charging may slightly impact long-term battery health, so it’s best used occasionally for extended shooting sessions.

Does the Insta360 GO 3 take photos as well as videos?

Yes, the camera supports both photo and video modes. You can switch to photo mode using the Action Pod or app and capture standard photos, HDR shots, or interval images. Despite its small size, it delivers good image quality suitable for casual photography and social media use.

Do you need a memory card for Insta360 GO 3?

No, the Insta360 GO 3 does not require a memory card because it comes with built-in storage. All your photos and videos are saved internally. You can later transfer files to your phone or computer using the Insta360 app or accessories like a quick reader.

Can you use Insta360 GO 3 without Wi-Fi?

Yes, you can still use the camera without Wi-Fi. Basic recording functions work independently, and you can connect it to your phone using a wired connection if needed. However, for full control, live preview, and editing features, using the Insta360 app with a connection is recommended.

What are common issues with Insta360 GO 3 and how can you fix them?

Some users may face issues like the camera not turning on, unresponsive buttons, or connectivity problems. These can usually be fixed by charging the device fully, restarting it, or updating the firmware. Ensuring proper connections and keeping the camera clean also helps maintain smooth performance.

Can the Insta360 GO 3 be used as a regular camera?

Yes, although it’s a compact action camera, it can function like a regular camera. You can shoot standard videos and photos without using any 360 features. Its wide-angle lens and stabilization make it suitable for everyday recording, vlogging, and capturing daily moments.

How can you improve video quality on the Insta360 GO 3?

To get clearer footage, shoot in well-lit environments and keep ISO as low as possible to reduce noise. Adjust frame rates based on motion—30fps for normal use and 60fps for action shots. Using proper mounting and keeping the lens clean also ensures sharper and more stable results.
