Lumie Bodyclock Luxe 750DAB Wake-Up Light-FAQs
How do I set the sunrise alarm?
Using the touch controls or remote, navigate the menu to set your desired wake-up time and sunrise duration (e.g., 15, 30, or 90 minutes). The light will begin its sunrise simulation, culminating in your chosen sound or radio at the set time.
How many lux is the light output?
The light output is measured in lumens, not directly in lux (which depends on distance). The Luxe 750DAB produces a very bright light suitable for effective wake-up and light therapy. For reference, it provides ample illumination to mimic dawn effectively in a dark room.
Where should I place the Lumie?
Place it on your bedside table, about arm’s length (50 cm) from your head, angled towards your face. Ensure it’s not obstructed so the light can reach your eyes.
Can I use it for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)?
Yes. While it’s primarily a wake-up light, the bright, full-spectrum light it emits can provide beneficial light therapy. For dedicated SAD treatment, Lumie recommends using their specific light therapy boxes for 30+ minutes daily.
How do I turn off the light completely at night?
You can disable the nightlight feature in the settings menu. After the sunset fade finishes, the light will turn off entirely instead of staying on at a low level.
Does it have a backup battery for the time/alarm?
No, the Lumie Bodyclock Luxe 750DAB does not have a backup battery. If unplugged, you will need to reset the time and alarms when power is restored.
What is the difference between the Luxe 750DAB and other Lumie models?
The Luxe 750DAB is the premium model with the highest light intensity, FM/DAB radio, a remote control, and extensive customization for sunrise/sunset. Simpler models like the Shine 300 offer core sunrise functionality at a lower price point.
Are there any known safety issues?
Lumie products are generally very safe. Always use the official power adapter supplied. In the past, specific models had a recall for a third-party adapter; ensure you are using the correct Lumie-branded power supply for your device.
What if I share a bed with a partner who wakes up later?
The sunrise is primarily visual, but the concluding alarm sound can be heard. You can use a gradual radio wake-up at low volume or place the clock on your side of the bed. Your partner can use a sleep mask if the light disturbs them.
