TIPS FOR YOUR ICED COFFEE MAKER
- A clean appliance is essential for making great-tasting coffee. Regularly clean the appliance as specified in the “CARE & CLEANING” section on page 10. Always use fresh, cold water in the iced coffee maker.
- Store unused coffee grounds in a cool, dry place. After opening a package of coffee grounds, reseal it tightly and store it in a refrigerator to maintain its freshness.
- For an optimum coffee taste, buy whole coffee beans and grind them finely just before brewing.
- Do not reuse coffee grounds, as this will reduce the coffee flavour greatly. Reheating coffee is not recommended, as coffee is at its peak immediately after brewing.
- Clean the appliance, as over extraction can cause oiliness. Small oil droplets on the surface of brewed, black coffee are due to the extraction of oil from the coffee powder.
- Oiliness may occur more frequently if heavily roasted coffees are used.
- Coffee contains natural tannins and oils and therefore will stain the nylon filter after use. This is a natural phenomenon, but soaking the filter in white vinegar and hot water may assist in reducing some of these stains.
CARE & CLEANING
Minerals like calcium and limestone can be found in water and may leave deposits in the appliance, which can affect its performance. De-calcifying the appliance is an important part of ensuring your drink always tastes great! We recommend de-calcifying your Iced Coffee Maker once a month to keep it at peak performance, following the steps below:
- Prepare 1 cup (240 ml) of undiluted white vinegar. Ensure the filter and brew funnel have been removed first. Pour the vinegar into the water tank.
- Replace the brew funnel and filter, and close the lid.
- Place the travel cup under the spout and press the START button to run a brew cycle.
- Once the cycle has stopped, discard the contents of the travel cup. Remove the filter or paper filter from the brew basket.
- Rinse the cup, filter, and brew basket with clean water.
- Fill the travel cup to the “WATER” marking with clean water and pour directly into the water tank.
- Place the travel cup under the spout and press the “START” button to run a brew cycle.
- After the cycle finishes, discard the water and rinse the travel cup thoroughly with clean water.
- Repeat steps 6–8 one more time to ensure the appliance is thoroughly rinsed.
CARE & CLEANING
- Clean all detachable parts after each use in hot soapy water.
- Wipe the exterior surface of the unit with a soft, damp cloth to remove stains.
- Water droplets may build up in the funnel and drip onto the unit base during brewing. To control the dripping, wipe the area with a clean, dry cloth after each use.
- Never use abrasive cleaners to clean any part.
- The filter and brew funnel are dishwasher safe, but should be placed on the top rack.

Morphy Richards MRCM35BK Iced Coffee Maker-FAQs
How does the Morphy Richards MRCM35BK iced coffee maker work?
The Morphy Richards MRCM35BK works by brewing hot coffee directly over ice to create a smooth iced coffee without losing flavor. You simply add water to the reservoir, coffee grounds to the permanent filter, and ice to the glass carafe. When brewing starts, the concentrated coffee melts the ice evenly, giving you a chilled, well-balanced drink in minutes.
How do I use the Morphy Richards MRCM35BK iced coffee maker?
To use this iced coffee maker, fill the water tank with cold water and add ground coffee to the reusable filter. Place ice cubes in the glass carafe, close the lid, and press the power button. The machine brews automatically, and the indicator light shows when it’s running. Within minutes, your iced coffee is ready to serve.
What is the difference between an iced coffee maker and a regular coffee maker?
A regular coffee maker brews hot coffee meant to be consumed warm, while an iced coffee maker is designed to brew stronger coffee that won’t taste diluted when poured over ice. The Morphy Richards MRCM35BK adjusts the brewing process to maintain flavor, making it ideal for cold coffee lovers who prefer café-style iced drinks at home.
Can the Morphy Richards MRCM35BK make hot coffee as well?
The Morphy Richards MRCM35BK is primarily designed for iced coffee preparation. However, you can also make hot coffee by brewing without adding ice to the carafe. For best results, it’s recommended to use it mainly for iced coffee, as the machine is optimized to balance flavor when brewing over ice.
Do I need paper filters for this iced coffee maker?
No, the Morphy Richards MRCM35BK comes with a removable permanent filter, so paper filters are not required. This makes it more eco-friendly and cost-effective. The reusable filter is easy to clean and ensures consistent coffee extraction every time, making daily use more convenient.
What is the correct coffee-to-water ratio for iced coffee?
For iced coffee, a slightly stronger brew is recommended. A good ratio is about one to two tablespoons of ground coffee per cup of water. This ensures the coffee remains flavorful after melting the ice. You can adjust the strength based on your taste preference using the Morphy Richards MRCM35BK.
Is iced coffee different from cold brew coffee?
Yes, iced coffee and cold brew are different. Iced coffee is brewed hot and then cooled over ice, while cold brew is made by steeping coffee grounds in cold water for several hours. The Morphy Richards MRCM35BK is designed for iced coffee, offering a faster method with a brighter, more refreshing taste.
Can I add milk or syrup to iced coffee made with this machine?
Absolutely. Once your iced coffee is brewed, you can customize it by adding milk, cream, flavored syrups, or sweeteners. Many users enjoy experimenting with vanilla, caramel, or plant-based milk options to create café-style drinks at home using the Morphy Richards MRCM35BK.
How do I clean the Morphy Richards MRCM35BK iced coffee maker?
Cleaning is simple. Remove and wash the permanent filter and glass carafe with warm, soapy water after use. Regularly rinse the water reservoir and descale the machine occasionally to prevent mineral buildup. Proper cleaning helps maintain taste quality and extends the life of your iced coffee maker.
