IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Before using the electrical appliance, the basic precautions below should always be followed:
- Read all instructions and save them for future reference.
- Check that the voltage marked on the appliance rating plate matches your local supply. For additional protection, we recommend the use of a power outlet with a rated current of 13 amps. To avoid circuit overload, do not operate another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit.
- Do not use an extension cable; it may result in fire, electric shock, and/or personal injury due to a tripping hazard.
- This appliance is intended for indoor household use only. Do not use this appliance for any purpose other than its intended use. Any other use may invalidate the warranty or may result in serious injury or harm.
- Do not touch the hot surface; the glass body will get hot during and after heating the water. Always use the Handle for moving the Kettle.
- Do not use the appliance if the plug, the mains cord, the base, or the appliance itself is damaged.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended when in use.
- Immediately unplug if the Kettle is not working correctly.
- This appliance is not intended for use by any individual (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or knowledge, without proper supervision or instruction from an adult or individual responsible for their safety and care.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- To protect against fire, electrical shock, and personal injury, do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquids.
- Place the appliance on a flat surface. Do not hang the Power Cord over the edge of a table or counter. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, touch hot surfaces, or become knotted. Ensure the Power Cord does not touch the hot surface of the appliance.
- Do not place it on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or on the top of another electrical appliance, or near an open flame.
- Always turn the appliance off at the power switch and remove the plug from the outlet before attempting to move the appliance when not in use, when no water is in the Kettle, or when filling water.
- Remove the power plug from the wall outlet before cleaning or when not in use. Allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning it.
- Always grasp the power plug to remove it from the wall outlet. Do not pull on the Power Cord itself.
- Do not try to repair on your own. If the plug is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer to avoid a hazard.
- Steam heat can cause burns. Use extra caution when opening the Lid immediately after the water has boiled. The steam coming out of the Kettle is very hot.

- Do not fill the Kettle beyond the maximum level indication. Do not operate the Kettle if the water is below the minimum level (usually 16.9 oz / 0.5 L).
- Do not fill the Kettle when positioned on the Power Base. Dry any water on the bottom of the Body before placing the Kettle onto the Power Base.
- This Kettle is to be used with the supplied base only.
- We recommend cleaning the washable nylon filter periodically.
- Do not insert any object into the slots or holes of the Kettle.

- Do not remove the Lid during the heating cycle. Scalding may occur. Never operate the appliance when the Lid is open or removed.

- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock, or injury.
CAUTION! Ensure that the Kettle is switched off before removing it from the Base. Do not fill the kettle beyond the max fill line. If the Kettle is overfilled, boiling water may eject from the Kettle and cause scalding. Do not immerse the Kettle, or its plug, in water or any other liquids. Do not wash the Kettle and its parts in a dishwasher; wash the Kettle by hand with mild soap and water.
WARNING!
- Do not use this appliance within reach of a bath or sink, or any vessel containing water or other liquids.
- Close the Lid until a click is heard so that steam is directed away from the Handle.
- Do not press the “Lid Release” button to open the Lid while the water is boiling.
- If the appliance is dropped in water, do not reach for it. Switch it off at the outlet, then disconnect it from the electric outlet. Drain the water before retrieving the appliance. Stop using the appliance until it has been checked by a qualified service agent.
- To reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock, do not repair the appliance by yourself. Do not remove the bottom of the Body or the Power Base by yourself.
- Do not remove the Lid while the water is boiling.
- Position the Kettle to the rear of work surfaces to prevent the Power Cord from hanging over the edge of a table or counter. Water can remain hot for a considerable time after boiling and can present a scald hazard.

Descale Using White Vinegar
- Allow the Kettle to cool. With the power off, remove the Kettle from its Power Base.

- Fill the Kettle with clean water.
- Boil, then discard the water. Repeat one more time before consuming boiled water.
- If scale is still present in the Kettle, repeat steps 1–6.

- Boil 16.9 oz (0.5 L) of water.
- Add 25 g of citric acid to the Kettle. Leave the solution in the Kettle for 15 minutes without heating.
- Empty the solution and rinse the Kettle with clean water.
- Boil, then discard the water.
- If scale is still present in the Kettle, repeat steps 1–4.
WARNING!
- Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
- Do not use chemical, steel wool, or abrasive cleaners to clean the appliance.
- The Kettle and its parts cannot be washed in a dishwasher.

MuellerLiving MLR010567N Glass Kettle-FAQs
Is a glass kettle safe and healthy to use?
Yes, glass kettles are considered very safe for health. Glass is a non-reactive material, so it does not release chemicals, metals, or odors into boiling water.
What type of glass is used in the MuellerLiving glass kettle?
MuellerLiving glass kettles are made from heat-resistant borosilicate or tempered glass, designed to withstand high temperatures safely.
How do you use the MuellerLiving glass kettle?
Fill the kettle with water up to the max line, place it on the base, and flip the power switch to the ON position. The kettle heats water quickly and shuts off automatically when boiling is complete.
Does the kettle turn off automatically?
Yes, it features automatic shut-off and boil-dry protection, which turns the kettle off once the water boils or if there’s no water inside.
Is a glass kettle better than a stainless steel kettle?
Glass kettles are often preferred for purity since they don’t rust or alter taste. Stainless steel kettles are durable, but glass offers better visibility and chemical-free boiling.
Can a glass kettle break or shatter?
Under normal use, the kettle is very safe. However, sudden temperature changes, drops, or impact can damage glass, so careful handling is recommended.

Yes, like all kettles, limescale can form over time depending on water hardness. The clear glass design makes buildup easy to see and clean.
How do I clean or descale the MuellerLiving glass kettle?
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water, boil the solution, let it sit for 15–20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Can I boil milk in the MuellerLiving glass kettle?
