If you’re having problems with the installation, try one of the following:
- Turn off your modem and router and disconnect them. Reboot your modem. Reconnect your router to your modem, and try installing with the Nighthawk app again.

What speeds does the Nighthawk router support?
The Nighthawk (R7000) supports wireless speeds up to 1900 Mbps, provides coverage up to 1800 sq. ft., and connects up to 30 devices. It also includes 4 Ethernet ports and 2 USB ports.
Does the Nighthawk router have a WPS button?
Yes. Press and hold the WPS button on the router for 3–5 seconds. Then, press the WPS button on your device within 2 minutes to connect without entering a password.
Is the Netgear Nighthawk easy to set up?
Yes, setup is quick and simple with the Nighthawk App. It guides you through installation, lets you manage devices, test internet speeds, and handle security features right from your phone.
How does NETGEAR Armor security work?
NETGEAR Armor automatically detects and protects all devices connected to your network. You can manage protection settings from the Armor dashboard within the app.
What is router mode on the Nighthawk?
In router mode, all of the router’s features are available, allowing it to manage your network. Alternatively, AP mode (access point) lets it extend an existing Wi-Fi network.
How do I use Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)?
To use WPS, press the WPS button on your router, then select the network on your device. It will connect automatically without needing a password.
Can I disable WPS on my Nighthawk router?
Yes. Log in at www.routerlogin.net, go to Advanced Setup > Wireless Settings, and check the box labeled “Disable Router’s PIN” under WPS settings.
How do I enable Bridge Mode on the Nighthawk router?
Go to Advanced > Advanced Setup > Wireless Bridge, then check Enable Bridge Mode. This allows the router to act as a bridge to another wireless network.
