HOW TO OPERATE

  1. First, find a flat surface near an electrical outlet before starting. Make sure your cord is away from any water source. It is acceptable to use an extension cord if needed.
  2. Gather your popcorn making supplies: popcorn, seasonings, bowls or bags for holding the popcorn, cooking oil, Kernel Measuring Cup and Oil Measuring Spoon. (Kernel Measuring Cup and Oil Measuring Spoon are included with your unit.) 2a. Place kettle (F) in hanging brackets (H) 2b. Assemble Popcorn Kettle lever (D) into Popcorn kettle (F) by using counter clock-wise rotation.
  3. Plug in the appliance while the switch is flipped to the OFF position.
  4. Make sure Popcorn Kettle is properly secured in support brackets by hooking the kettle onto the hanger of the unit.
  5. Insert Internal Plug into the socket on the bottom of the Popcorn Kettle. NOTE: Make sure the Popcorn Kettle is properly attached to brackets before operating and that the motor plug is plugged into the Popcorn Kettle.
  6. Turn the appliance ON by flipping the switch on the top of the machine. Allow the appliance to run 3-5 minutes to heat the Popcorn Kettle.
  7. Turn the unit OFF.
  8. Use the Oil Measuring Spoon supplied with your POPCORN MAKER to add 2 teaspoons of your favorite popcorn cooking oil to the Popcorn Kettle. For best popping results, it is suggested to use light vegetable oil.
  9. Add ¼ cup popcorn kernels to the Popcorn Kettle using the supplied Kernel Measuring Cup.
  10. Turn the unit ON and close the door. The Popcorn Maker will begin popping your popcorn. You will notice the popcorn will begin to spill out of the top of the kettle.
  11. Once the kernels have stopped popping, tip the Popcorn Kettle using the red knob on the Popcorn Kettle Lever to release the popcorn.

NOTE: DO NOT force Popcorn Kettle in or out of the brackets as this may cause gears to become misaligned and the appliance will not operate properly.

HELPFUL TIPS

SMOKING

If your POPCORN MAKER begins to smoke during cooking, it may be due to grease buildup. To reduce smoking, make sure that you clean the inside of the Kettle between uses.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

  1. Ensure appliance is unplugged before cleaning. Unplug the outer plug to the outlet as well as the Internal Plug inside the Main Unit. Allow to cool. DO NOT immerse.
  2. Use slightly damp, non-abrasive sponge, towel or cloth to wipe down the inside and outside of Main Unit, then wipe with a non-abrasive towel to dry.
  3. Make sure the Internal Plug is disconnected and remove the Popcorn Kettle from the support brackets.
  4. Take the Popcorn Kettle out of the Main Unit. After removing from the Main Unit, fill the Popcorn Kettle approximately ⅔ from the bottom with hot, soapy water. Do not overfill.
  5. Support Popcorn Kettle in dry sink or countertop to prevent tip-over. Let the Popcorn Kettle sit for 15-20 minutes to cut the grease (time may vary – use your own judgment depending on the amount of cleaning necessary).
  6. Empty water. If necessary, use the scrubber side of a cleaning sponge to scrub only inside of Popcorn Kettle.
  7. Rinse carefully and dry. Do not allow water to contact the electrical parts.
  8. Wipe the outside of the Popcorn Kettle with a damp cloth and dry.

NOTE: Removable parts are not dishwasher safe.
