ROLA PetPal Treat Dispenser-FAQs

What is the ROLA PetPal Treat Dispenser?

The ROLA PetPal Treat Dispenser is an expandable treat module designed to work with the ROLA PetPal robot (sold separately). It allows you to remotely release treats for your dog or cat using the companion app. This helps you reward, train, or comfort your pet even when you’re away from home. It also offers controlled portion dispensing to prevent overfeeding.

How does the ROLA PetPal Treat Dispenser work?

The dispenser connects to the ROLA PetPal robot and is operated through the mobile app. Once filled with dry treats, you can trigger automatic or manual dispensing. The system releases a measured portion each time, ensuring consistency. It’s ideal for positive reinforcement training, interactive play, or simply surprising your pet during the day.

How do I set up the ROLA PetPal Treat Dispenser?

To set up the dispenser, attach it securely to your compatible ROLA PetPal device. Power on the robot, connect it to Wi-Fi through the app, and follow the in-app pairing instructions. Once connected, fill the treat compartment with appropriately sized dry treats and test a small portion release to ensure smooth operation.

What type of treats can I use in the dispenser?

The dispenser works best with small, dry, and non-sticky treats that can pass easily through the release mechanism. Avoid wet, crumbly, or oversized treats, as they may cause clogging. Always check the recommended treat size in the product manual to maintain smooth dispensing and prevent internal blockages.

How can I train my dog to use a treat dispenser?

Start by placing the device near your dog and manually dispensing a treat so they associate it with rewards. Encourage interaction by rolling the robot slightly or praising them when they approach it. Consistent positive reinforcement builds confidence and helps your dog understand that the device delivers rewards.

Is the treat dispenser suitable for both dogs and cats?

Yes, the ROLA PetPal Treat Dispenser is designed for both dogs and cats. It can be especially useful for encouraging activity in indoor pets. However, monitor portion sizes carefully, as automatic feeding devices may contribute to overeating if not properly managed.

How do I reset the ROLA PetPal device if it stops responding?

If the robot becomes unresponsive, locate the reset button at the bottom of the unit. Press and hold it for more than five seconds until you hear the confirmation tone. After resetting, reconnect the device to your Wi-Fi network through the app to resume normal operation.

Can I use wet food in the ROLA PetPal Treat Dispenser?

No, the treat dispenser is intended for dry treats only. Wet food may spoil quickly and can clog the dispensing mechanism. If you require wet food feeding, consider a feeder specifically designed to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.

Is the ROLA PetPal Treat Dispenser good for pets adjusting to a new home?

Yes, it can support bonding and reassurance during transition periods. When combined with structured routines—like the common 3-3-3 adjustment guideline for adopted pets—it helps reinforce positive behavior and comfort. Controlled treat rewards can ease anxiety and encourage engagement in a new environment.
