CARE AND CLEANING

  • Upholstered furniture is packaged tightly to protect it during transit. This packaging can sometimes cause creases or misshapen cushions when the furniture comes out of the packaging. These issues will correct themselves over time as the fibers of the cushions are exposed to air. However, shaping the cushions with your hands can alleviate the creases and compressed fibers more quickly.
  • Dust often and use a vacuum cleaner to remove debris from seams and crevasses.
  • Use a soft, damp cloth to gently clean soiled areas and wipe them clean. Do not rub.
  • Do not use household cleaners or solvents. Such cleaners may cause damage and/or discoloration.
  • Do regularly use a dedicated leather care product on the leather furniture to prevent the buildup of body oils.

Rooms To Go 11081027 Dual Power Reclining Sofa-FAQs

What is a dual power reclining sofa?

A dual power reclining sofa features motorized controls that let you independently adjust both the headrest and footrest for personalized comfort. With just a button press, you can find your ideal lounging or viewing position.

How does a power recliner sofa work?

A power recliner uses an electric motor to move the backrest and footrest. When you press the control buttons, the motor adjusts the position smoothly, allowing effortless reclining.

Do power recliners need to stay plugged in?

Yes. Power recliners must remain plugged into an electrical outlet for the motorized features to function properly.

What are common problems with recliners?

The most common issue is when a recliner leans to one side, which can cause discomfort. This often happens due to uneven wear, a loose mechanism, or a damaged frame.

Is it okay to sleep in a recliner every night?

Occasional naps in a recliner are fine, but sleeping in one long-term can cause stiffness or joint issues, such as hip and knee tightness.

Do doctors recommend using recliners?

Yes, in some cases. Recliners can help people recovering from surgery or those with back pain, as they support better posture and relieve pressure on the spine.

How do I adjust the tension on my recliner?

Check underneath the seat for a tension knob or wing nut. Turn it clockwise to make the recline stiffer or counterclockwise to loosen it. Adjust gradually until it feels right.

What are the disadvantages of a recliner sofa?

Recliners are heavier, require more floor space, and can be harder to move. They also need more maintenance due to their mechanical and electrical parts.

How long does a recliner sofa usually last?

With proper care, a good-quality recliner sofa can last 10–15 years, depending on usage and maintenance.

Do recliner sofas use a lot of electricity?

No. Power recliners use minimal electricity — comparable to a small household appliance when in motion and almost none when idle.

Should I unplug my recliner when not in use?

It’s generally safe to leave it plugged in, but unplugging during storms or long absences helps protect the motor from power surges.
