CREATE THE BUBBLES
- Fill the Carbonating Bottle with cold water up to the fill line. WARNING! Do not carbonate anything other than water. Other liquids can contaminate and clog internal parts, potentially resulting in excessive pressure, bottle failure during carbonation and serious injury. Never carbonate after flavoring has been added.
- To insert the Carbonating Bottle, make sure that the Carbonating Bottle’s rest is angled forward. Please make sure you do not pull the carbonating tube. WARNING! Never use a Sparkling Water Maker with a broken carbonating tube. This can cause excessive pressure, bottle failure, and serious injury. Insert the Carbonating Bottle neck into the Snap-Lock. Push the Carbonating Bottle up and back. The Snap-Lock will hold the Carbonating Bottle.
- To carbonate, push down on the carbonating lever in short 1 second presses; 3 presses for standard carbonation and 5 presses for high.
- When the desired level of carbonation is achieved, gently pull the Carbonating Bottle towards you until it reaches its fully forward position. This will release the pressure in the Carbonating Bottle and allow the Carbonating Bottle to be released from the Snap-Lock. WARNING! Do not remove the Carbonating Bottle until after hearing the sound of excess CO2 being released. Never force the Carbonating Bottle out of the Snap-Lock. Always allow the Sparkling Water Maker to release the Carbonating Bottle. If the Carbonating Bottle does not immediately release from the Snap-Lock, wait a few moments. If it still does not release, then push the Carbonating Bottle back into the vertical position and gently pull it towards you again. Attempting to remove the Carbonating Bottle while it is still pressurized can cause uncontrolled ejection of the Carbonating Bottle and may result in serious injury.

SodaStream ART Sparkling Water Maker-FAQs
What’s the difference between SodaStream and SodaStream ART?
The SodaStream ART uses the Quick Connect (pink) CO₂ cylinder, which clicks easily into place. The standard SodaStream models may use the older blue screw-in cylinder. Both make the same quality sparkling water.
Does the SodaStream ART need batteries?
No. The ART uses a manual carbonation lever, so it works without batteries or electricity.
How do I make sparkling water with the SodaStream ART?
Fill the bottle with cold water, lock it into the machine, and pull the lever to carbonate. Release when you reach your desired fizz.
Can I carbonate apple juice or other liquids?
No. Only carbonate plain water. Juices, milk, tea, or other liquids can cause messy overflows, damage the machine, and void the warranty.
Can I use tap water in a SodaStream?
Yes. Tap, filtered, or bottled water is fine—but for the best fizz, use cold water.
Is sparkling water healthy?
Yes, for most people. Sparkling water hydrates well and may help you feel fuller. However, drinking excessive amounts may cause gas or bloating.
Is SodaStream ART compatible with glass bottles?
No. The ART model does not support glass bottles. Use only compatible plastic SodaStream bottles.
Why shouldn’t I carbonate juice or sugary drinks?
They create excessive foam, can clog the nozzle, cause sticky messes, and may damage the carbonation mechanism.
Is it okay to drink SodaStream water every day?
Yes. Daily sparkling water is generally safe, though drinking too much may lead to bloating in some people.
How do I know when my CO₂ cylinder is empty?
If the carbonation becomes weak or you hear a faint sputtering sound, the cylinder is likely empty. You can also weigh it—less than 750 g means it’s time to replace it.
