Sony SSCSE Dolby Atmos Enabled Speakers-FAQs

How do Dolby Atmos enabled speakers work?

Dolby Atmos enabled speakers fire sound upward instead of directly at you. The angle of the upward-firing element is designed to reflect sound off the ceiling, creating an immersive surround sound experience.

How can I listen to Dolby Atmos on my speakers?

To enable Dolby Atmos, go to Settings > Apps > Music and select Dolby Atmos. Choose Automatic for it to activate when compatible devices are connected or Always On for continuous Dolby Atmos playback.

How can I tell if Dolby Atmos is working?

When Dolby Atmos is playing, most soundbars and receivers will show an indicator, such as an on-device display, LED light, or notification through a mobile control app, confirming that you’re listening to Dolby Atmos content.

What is the best setup for Dolby Atmos?

For optimal Dolby Atmos performance, place your speakers slightly above ear level when seated, and avoid placing them too high on the wall to maintain effective sound reflection.

Is Dolby Atmos just stereo?

No, Dolby Atmos is much more than stereo. It uses a renderer to deliver immersive, object-based audio that can be played on various speaker setups, including stereo, 5.1, or 7.1 configurations.

What is Dolby Atmos in Sony products?

Dolby Atmos in Sony devices offers a surround sound experience by expanding audio with overhead channels, creating a more immersive, 3D soundstage.

How do I test Dolby Atmos on my Sony TV?

To check if Dolby Atmos is active, press the DISPLAY button on your remote. If you see “ATMOS” displayed, it indicates that Dolby Atmos content is being played.

What is the difference between Dolby Audio and Dolby Atmos?

Dolby Audio enhances sound for an immersive experience, while Dolby Atmos takes it further by adding a three-dimensional audio effect that includes sounds coming from above, creating a truly immersive surround experience.
