The Rise Roma Garden Assembly
The Roma has a few different configurations.
This manual is for configuration #1
The Rise Roma is an extension for a base (single-level) Rise Garden.
Do not use in conjunction with any other Rise Garden extensions (double- or triple-level).
Disconnect power
If building a garden from scratch, skip this page.
- Disconnect the garden from power by flipping the switch on the power supply or by unplugging the power supply from the wall.
- Remove the top shelf cable from the protective channel in the upright.
- Unscrew the top shelf cable connector from the control box. Remove the cable from the cabinet.

Remove Top Shelf
If building a garden from scratch, skip this page.
- Remove screw from each (4) corner of top shelf using allen wrench.
- Gently lift the top shelf off of uprights and set aside.
3. Unpack the Roma Extension

4. Extend Uprights
- Align the dowels and grooves of each (4) Roma upright extension with the upright, then lower the Roma upright extension onto the upright.
- Fasten each (4) Roma upright extension with a screw. Leave about a1/8” gap.
Do not tighten yet.

5. Install Frame
- Lower frame onto each (4) screw. Do not tighten yet.
- The frame trellis attaches magnetically to the frame.

6. Add Light Bars to Frame
- Align the slot on each side of light bar with an untightened screw.
- Pull light bar forwards, over (2) screws.
- Let light bar engage fully with both (2) screws, and tighten.
Note: bottom of light bar hook rests on top of frame edge.
- Repeat for the second light bar.
7. Add Top Shelf
- Align the top shelf with the dowels and lower it onto the uprights.
Ensure that the cable is on the right-hand side.
- Install a screw into the underside of each (4) corner of top shelf.

8. Route Cables to Control Box
- Tuck the cable from the top shelf and each light bar into the uprights.
- Feed cables into the cabinet.
Note: the cable from one light bar will need to travel across the top of the cabinet from the left to the right side.
If extending an assembled single-level garden, you have already done the next few steps. Skip to step 15.
If you are building a fresh garden, continue.

9. Connect Tubing to Pump
- Uncoil the tubing and feed it into the raised hole on the top water tray until the short segment rests in the groove.
- The end of the tubing should now be in the water tank. Connect the tubing to the pump coupler. Push firmly.
10. Unpack Tray Lids and Service Doors

11. Cover Water Tray
- Place the tray lids on top of the water tray.
- Place the service door on the left side.
12. Unpack Power Supply
- Plug the AC cable into the power supply.

13. Antenna and Power
- Screw antenna from hardware kit onto the connector on the right exterior side of cabinet.
- Route the power cable out of the hole in the back-right corner of the cabinet floor, and connect it to the power supply. Do not connect the power supply to the wall yet.
Place the power supply outside of the cabinet, vent-side-up, in an area with unrestricted airflow.
14. Identify the Control Box
- Lights connect to the three rear-most plugs.
- By default, one socket is uncapped. To plug in an additional level of lights, unscrew the caps.
Note: All connectors are keyed; if the plug does not fit initially, gently rotate the plug until the keys line up and the plug is able to be inserted into the socket. Do not force the plug as this may break or bend the connector.
15. Plug in electronics
- Plug cable from the top shelf into control box and screw in to secure.

- Connect additional light cable(s) from light bars.
Use the included wraps to bundle excess cable. - Plug cable from pump into control box and screw to secure.
16. Tip-prevention Kit (optional)
- A kit with two straps is provided in the base to secure the garden to residential wall studs.
- The Roma garden requires longer straps, provided with the Roma extension.
- If the Roma strap has loops, use the included pin to secure it with the bracket provided with the base garden.
- To use the kits, loop the metal cable around each rear upright, just under the top shelf.
- Position the garden such that the cable is not loose.
- If a stud is not accessible, use an anchor appropriate to your wall material and rated for at least 25 lbs.
17. Powering on
- Fill the water tank about halfway.
- Connect the power supply to a power source, and flip the power switch on the power supply. Always unplug the power supply before plugging or unplugging any electronics.
- The lights should turn off, and the pump should start running.
- The control box should have a solid red light, indicating it is ready to connect via the Rise Gardens App.
- Monitor the garden for a few minutes to ensure there are no leaks.

Warranty and returns
Limited Warranty Policy – Indoor Gardens
All our Indoor Gardens come with a 3-year warranty for hardware components and a 1-year warranty on electronic components against defects in workmanship and materials.
To be eligible for a warranty replacement, you must have proof of purchase (order number or email confirming purchase) and be the original owner of the Indoor Garden.
Damage or equipment failure due to normal wear and tear, improper or negligent assembly, maintenance, accident, abuse, improper or abnormal use, and relocation is not covered under the warranty.
Return Policy – Indoor Gardens
If you find yourself unsatisfied with your purchase, you have 90 days from the time of delivery to return your purchase, unless your garden was purchased as part of a promotion stipulating that all sales are final. To be eligible for the return of a product other than a Garden, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Perishable goods such as seed pods & nutrients are not eligible for return. Please reach out to our Support Team for any return inquiries at support.risegardens.com.
To complete any return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. All items must be returned in their original packaging. If you do not have original packaging, you will need to purchase it from Rise Gardens.
For returns not related to a warranty claim, customers are responsible for the return shipping cost. The cost of shipping labels and packaging kits provided by Rise Gardens will be deducted from your refund. Any eligible refund will be issued only once the returned item is received by Rise Gardens.

Do hydroponic plants need sunlight?
No, they don’t need direct sunlight, but they do need light (5–6 hours daily). LED grow lights work well for indoor hydroponics.
Does hydroponics require a water pump?
Passive systems (e.g., wick systems): No pump needed.
Active systems (e.g., DWC, NFT): A pump ensures proper nutrient and oxygen flow.
Is the Rise Garden dishwasher-safe?
Yes! The food-grade plastic components are dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning between growing cycles.
How does hydroponics work?
Plants grow in a water-based nutrient solution (no soil), supported by materials like:
Coconut coir
Perlite
Vermiculite
This method is used by home gardeners and commercial growers alike.
How much space is needed for a hydroponic garden?
Small systems (like Rise Roma): Fit on a countertop (~3 ft wide).
Larger setups: For family-sized yields, 200 sq ft per person is ideal.
Do hydroponic plants need humidity control?
Yes! The ideal humidity range is 50–70% for healthy growth.
How long do hydroponic plants last?
With proper care, hydroponic plants can thrive for months or even years, depending on the plant type.
Do hydroponic grow lights emit UV rays?
Some LED grow lights include UV diodes, but excessive UV can harm plants—use with caution.
