ThermoPro TP50 Indoor Digital Hygrometer-FAQs
How accurate is the ThermoPro TP50?
The TP50 offers ±2–3% RH accuracy for humidity and ±1°F for temperature. It updates readings every 10 seconds for reliable monitoring.
What is the temperature range of the ThermoPro TP50?
The TP50 measures temperatures from -22°F to 140°F (-30°C to 60°C).
How do I know if my hygrometer is accurate?
You can perform a salt test: place a bottle cap filled with salt and a few drops of water in a sealed bag with the hygrometer. After 5–6 hours, the humidity should read around 75%.
How do I change the temperature unit on the ThermoPro TP50?
Press the °F/°C button on the back of the device to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius.
Where is the best place to put a hygrometer in your house?
Place it in a main living area, like the living room or bedroom. Avoid kitchens, bathrooms, and direct sunlight, which can cause inaccurate spikes in readings.
Why is my ThermoPro TP50 not reading correctly?
If the readings seem off, reset the device. If the issue continues, the internal sensor may be damaged—often due to moisture or heat.
What does high humidity (e.g., 97%) mean?
97% humidity means the air is nearly saturated with moisture, often causing fog, condensation, and discomfort.
Is 70% humidity too high for a home?
Yes. Sustained humidity above 60–70% can encourage mold growth and damage walls or furniture.
How do I reset a hygrometer?
Most hygrometers, including the TP50, can be reset by removing and reinserting the battery.
