- Use only on upholstery/fabric marked:
- W (wet clean)
- S/W (solvent/dry or wet clean)

Using other cleaners will void your warranty. - Line up tabs on the clean solution reservoir with slots on the cleaner and slide the reservoir toward the cleaner (Diagram 5). Make sure the clean solution reservoir is not misaligned (Diagram 5a).

Then turn the cleaning mode selector to “scrub” (before spraying) and spray solution onto the stain. Allow the cleaning solution to penetrate stain for 2 minutes. Use a rotating brush to agitate in a forward and backward motion using smooth, steady strokes (Diagram 8). Next, change the cleaning mode selector to “vacuum” to pick up remaining moisture.

Dirt Devil Spot Scrubber Carpet Cleaner Machine-FAQs
How do I use the Spot Scrubber Carpet Cleaner?
Fill the clean water tank with warm (not boiling) water and the recommended cleaning solution. Plug in the machine, turn it on, and move it slowly over the stained area while pressing the spray trigger. Let the brushes scrub and extract dirt, then allow the carpet to dry completely.
Should I vacuum before using the carpet cleaner?
Yes. Always vacuum your carpet thoroughly before using the cleaner. This removes loose dirt and debris, allowing the Spot Scrubber to focus on deep cleaning the fibers.
Do I use hot or cold water in my carpet cleaner?
Use hot tap water, not boiling. Hot water cleans better than cold but boiling water can damage the machine or carpet fibers.
How many cleaning passes should I make?
For best results, make two wet passes (with spray) followed by two dry passes (without spray). This ensures deep cleaning and faster drying time.
What kind of liquid should I use in the carpet cleaner?
Use the recommended carpet cleaning formula that’s compatible with your machine. Avoid using vinegar or harsh detergents, as they can damage the unit or leave odors.
Can I put vinegar or dish soap in my carpet cleaner?
No. Avoid vinegar or dish soap in your Spot Scrubber. These can corrode parts, cause excess suds, and reduce cleaning performance.
How do I remove or attach the hose and tools?
Press the release latch to detach the hose or tool. When reattaching, push it firmly until you hear a click, ensuring there’s no air leak for proper suction.
Why is my Spot Scrubber not picking up water?
Check if the dirty water tank is full or incorrectly seated. Also inspect for clogs in the nozzle or hose, and ensure the suction path is clear.
How do I know when the machine is fully charged (cordless models)?
A solid green light indicates a full charge. Charging may take up to 6 hours, and the cleaner will automatically stop charging when the battery is full.
What should I do if the brush isn’t spinning?
Turn off and unplug the cleaner. Check for tangled hair or debris around the brush roll. Clean it thoroughly, then press the reset button, usually located near the brush housing.
