RECIPE
Make traditional waffles for approximately 8 waffles.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of all-purpose flour
- 3 tsp of granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 tsp of salt
- 1-3/4 cups reduced-fat milk
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- Mix the flour and baking powder in a large bowl.
- Make a hole in the middle and add salt, sugar, vegetable oil, and eggs.
- Gradually mix in the milk a little at a time.
- Let the batter rest for 1 hour before using. After making sure your Waffle Maker has been preheated, you can then pour the batter into the waffle maker using a ladle (g): the batter in the baking compartments should not exceed the height of the separator bar. (fig.10)
- Close the waffle maker and cook for the recommended amount of time.
- The waffles should be nicely browned. To serve, put the waffles on a dish and top with syrup if desired.
- The waffles are also delicious with melted chocolate, whipped cream, jam, ice cream, strawberries, or any topping you prefer.

KRUPS 4-Slice Belgian Waffle Maker- FAQs
How do I know when my Krups waffle maker is ready?
The waffle maker has red and green indicator lights and an audible “ready” beep.
When the green light turns on and the beep sounds, it’s preheated and ready for batter.
Done cooking? Steam slows/stops escaping, and waffles are golden brown (typically 5–9 minutes).
How much batter should I use per waffle?
Use about ½ cup of batter per square (for the 4-slice model).
Spread evenly but don’t overfill—batter expands while cooking.
How long does it take to cook waffles?
Average time: 5–6 minutes (varies by recipe and crispiness preference).
Tip: First waffle may take longer as the iron adjusts.
How do I clean my Krups waffle maker?
Unplug and cool completely.
Wipe plates with a damp sponge + mild soap (never submerge in water).
Remove crumbs with a soft brush or dry cloth.
Avoid abrasive scrubbers to prevent nonstick coating damage.
How do I make crispy Belgian waffles?
Use cornstarch (adds crunch).
Replace milk with buttermilk (for texture).
Add melted butter to the batter.
Bake longer (extra 1–2 minutes) for deeper browning.
Do I need to grease the waffle plates?
Lightly brush with oil or butter before the first use.
Nonstick plates may not need greasing after seasoning.
What temperature should I set for Belgian waffles?
Ideal range: 355–375°F (180–190°C).
Too hot? Sugar burns; too low? Waffles stay soggy.
Can I make anything besides waffles in it?
Yes! Try:
Hash browns
Grilled cheese
Cinnamon rolls
Brownies
Why are my waffles sticking?
Not preheated enough (wait for the “ready” light).
Too much batter (causes overflow and sticking).
Needs light greasing (if nonstick coating is new).
