Petwant HIP-C101 Smart Cat Litter Box-FAQs
How does a smart cat litter box work?
The Petwant HIP-C101 uses built-in sensors to detect when your cat has finished. It then automatically sifts or rakes the litter, moving waste into a separate sealed compartment.
How do I clean the Petwant HIP-C101?
Press the cleaning button, remove the waste drawer, and wash it with warm, soapy water. Wipe the interior and exterior surfaces with a mild detergent and soft cloth, dry thoroughly, and reassemble.
What type of litter should I use?
Clumping cat litter is the most effective option. It forms tight clumps that can be easily separated from clean litter by the self-cleaning system.
How often should I change the litter?
Scoop or allow the unit to self-clean daily, but replace all litter every 2–4 weeks depending on the number of cats and their bathroom habits.
Is the Petwant HIP-C101 safe for cats?
Yes, it is equipped with safety sensors that pause cleaning if your cat enters the box. The litter used is also safe as long as you choose non-toxic, clumping litter.
Does the litter box connect to Wi-Fi?
Yes, the HIP-C101 can connect to your home Wi-Fi, allowing you to monitor your cat’s usage and receive maintenance alerts via the companion app.
Can I use pellets or non-clumping litter?
No, non-clumping, pellet, or absorbent types are not recommended as they may interfere with the cleaning system. Stick to clumping clay-based litter.
What are the disadvantages of an automatic litter box?
Some cats may be startled by the cleaning noise, and moving parts require occasional maintenance. Also, only certain types of litter are compatible.
How often do I need to empty the waste drawer?
For one cat, emptying is usually needed every 1–2 weeks. For multiple cats, you may need to empty the drawer weekly.
How do I remove odors from the litter box?
Use baking soda to help neutralize odors. You can also clean the waste drawer and surfaces regularly with mild soap and water.
