HONOR 400 Dual SIM Mobile

Accessible use of a phone

With assistive features, your phone can be easily used by everyone, including people with disabilities, ensuring that everyone can equally enjoy the convenience brought by technology. The accessibility features include the following categories:

• Vision: assisting individuals with low vision or blindness in using the phone, such as Colour correction.
• Hearing: assisting individuals with hearing impairments or deafness in using the phone, such as Captions, Flash for Alerts.
• INTERACTION CONTROL: assisting individuals with limited hand functionality or cognitive impairments in using the phone, such as

Accessibility shortcut, Power button ends call.

Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Accessibility to view the accessibility features supported by this phone. In the Accessibility settings interface, tap > Restore defaults to reset the current accessibility settings at any time.

Customise Text-to-speech (TTS)

Text-to-speech (TTS) allows the text on the phone to be read out in voice, and can be used in conjunction with TalkBack.

Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Accessibility > Text-to-speech, and you can:

• Set engine: Under Preferred engine, tap the icon beside the engine name. You can customise the language and more.
• Adjust Speech rate: Slide the Speech rate control bar; you can adjust the reading speed.
• Adjust Pitch: Slide the Pitch control bar. You can adjust the pitch of the reading.
• Reset speech rate: Tap Reset speech rate. You can reset the text speaking speed to the default value.
• Reset speech pitch: Tap Reset speech pitch. You can reset the reading tone of text to the default value.
• During the customisation process, you can tap Listen to an example at any time to consider whether the current voice is satisfactory.

Magnification

By enabling the Magnification feature, you can zoom in on specific areas of the screen, making it easier to read small text.
Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Accessibility > Magnification, and turn on the Magnification switch. You can:

• Partial Zoom Display: tap the screen three times quickly with one finger to zoom in on the touched area (tap three times again to return to the previous view).
• Pan the Screen: while in the partial zoom mode, drag two fingers on the screen.
• Adjust Zoom Level: while in the partial zoom mode, pinch or spread two fingers on the screen.
• Temporary Zoom: quickly tap the screen three times with one finger, then press and hold the screen (i.e., double-tap quickly followed by a long press). This will temporarily zoom in on the touched area. You can drag your finger to view any part of the screen, and release your finger to return to the previous view.

Note: 

• Once this feature is enabled, One-handed mode will be automatically turned off.
• After enabling this feature, the response speed of applications such as Phone, Calculator may slow down. Please refer to actual performance.
• When playing games or using applications that require multiple consecutive taps on a phone, it is recommended to enable this feature with caution to avoid conflicts between the Magnification and in-app operations.

Enable Large mouse pointer.

When a phone is connected to a mouse, the mouse pointer will enlarge to make navigation easier.
Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Accessibility, and turn on the Large mouse pointer switch.

Note: 

• If your phone is not connected to a mouse, enabling this feature will have no effect.

Colour correctioAdjustingng the colour display settings on your phone can help individuals with colour vision deficiency to distinguish colours and use the screen more easily.

Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Accessibility > Colour correction, turn on the Colour correction switch, and then choose the appropriate colour display mode according to your needs.

Enable Colour inversion

Reversing the screen colours can help individuals with visual impairments better distinguish screen content and improve readability.

Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Accessibility, and turn on the Colour inversion switch.

Note: 

• Enabling this feature may impact performance.

Enable high-contrast text.

Darkening the font colour and creating contrast with the background helps individuals with impaired vision see more clearly.

Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Accessibility, and turn on the High contrast text switch.

Note: 

• When High contrast text is enabled, it will default to Light mode and turn off the Autoswitch.

Enable Advanced visual effects.

The use of colour selection, animations, blur effects, and lighting layers enhances both the visual appeal of the interface and your interaction experience.

Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Accessibility, and turn on Advanced visual effects.

Connect Hearing aid

You need to turn on Bluetooth first, then connect the Hearing aid.

1. Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Accessibility > Hearing aid, and turn on Bluetooth.
2. Under Available devices, select the Hearing aid you want to pair and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the pairing.
3. You can also go to Settings > Bluetooth > Available devices, and look for the device with the icon to pair.

Note: 

• Please make sure the Hearing aid has a sufficient battery and is within Bluetooth range (approximately 10 meters).

Adjust Audio balance

You can adjust the balance of Mono audio to increase the volume of the left or right channel.

Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Accessibility, slide the control block under Audio balance to adjust the audio direction. For example, if you have difficulty hearing in your left ear, slide the control block to the left.

Enable Captions

Turning on Captions will convert spoken audio into text, making it easier for individuals with hearing impairments to understand the content.

Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Accessibility > Captions, and turn on Captions. You can further customise Language, Font size and Caption style according to your personal needs.

Flash for Alerts

When a call comes in, a notification is received, or the alarm goes off, the camera flash and the screen will blink to prevent you from missing any alerts.

Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Accessibility > Flash for Alerts, you can:

• Turn on the Camera flash.
• Turn on Screen flash, and customise the blinking colour.

Set up Accessibility shortcut.

You can set up the volume buttons to quickly launch an accessibility feature or service.

1. Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Accessibility > Accessibility shortcut.
2. Turn on the Accessibility shortcut switch.
3. Tap the Select feature and select the feature you want to launch via the shortcut.

Once enabled, press and hold both the volume up and down buttons for 3 seconds to launch the accessibility shortcut.

Note: 

• Note that only certain accessibility features or services can be accessed through this shortcut. Please refer to the actual settings for availability.

Adjust Touch Response Time

You can adjust the response time for both tapping and long pressing the screen according to your needs.

Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Accessibility > Touch, you can:
• Select Tap duration: adjust the length of time the tap needs to be held.
• Select Long press duration: adjust the length of time the long press needs to be held.
• Enable Ignore repeated touches: multiple taps within the set time will be treated as a single tap. Once enabled, you can further adjust the time interval.

Click whether the cursor stops.

When a phone is connected to a mouse, you can set it to automatically click after the cursor pauses for a certain amount of time, making it easier for users with limited hand functionality to operate the device.

Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Accessibility > Click when cursor stops, turn on Click when cursor stops, slide the control block under Click when cursor stops to adjust the cursor pause duration.

Note: 

• If your phone is not connected to a mouse, enabling this feature will have no effect.

Enable the Power button to end the call

After a call, you can press the power button to end the call.

Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Accessibility, turn on Power button ends call.

RTT call

In situations where it is inconvenient for you to speak, use RTT (Real-time text) calls to input the information you want to convey to the other party, which will be displayed on the screen in real time for easy communication.

Enable RTT

Go to Phone > > Settings > RTT (real-time text), or go to Settings > Accessibility features > Accessibility > RTT (real-time text), and turn on the RTT switch.

• This feature is only supported in certain countries and regions. If this menu is not available, it means that this feature is not supported.

Set RTT status

Go to Phone > > Settings > RTT (real-time text), or go to Phone > Settings > Accessibility > RTT (real-time text), and set the display of RTT call interface buttons or microphone status.

Set the RTT button display mode.

In the RTT (real-time text) interface, you can set the following three button states:

• The Not visible switch supports RTT incoming calls but hides the RTT call button.
• Turn on the Visible during calls switch to display the button only during voice calls.
• Turn on the Always visible switch to display the RTT button in any dialling interface or during voice calls.

Set Microphone status

In the RTT (real-time text) interface, turn on the Mute microphone switch to have the microphone muted by default during RTT calls. For emergency calls, the microphone is always on.

Using RTT during a call

Initiating a call

After dialling, tap RTT call on the call interface. After the other party answers, input text and send it to the other party.
When making an RTT call, tap RTT on the call interface to end the RTT call.

Receiving a call

Tap RTT on the call interface and input text to send to the other party during the call.
When the calling user initiates an RTT call, the receiving user can only choose to answer or hang up. Voice answering is not supported.

Exiting an RTT call

On the call interface, tap > Switch to voice call in the upper right corner to exit the RTT call mode and use voice calling.

Note: 

• This feature requires both parties’ devices to support RTT mode.
• Both parties must be connected to a mobile network or a Wi-Fi network, and the network service provider must support the RTT function.
• Both parties must enable RTT. If either party exits the RTT call, the other party will automatically exit, and the call will switch to a voice call.
