  • The temperature in the device is regulated using the control panel (5), which is located in the lower right corner.
  • The green indicator on the control panel indicates that the device is working.
  • The set temperature is regulated by the thermostat knob.
  • In the “Refrigerator” mode, the device operates at a temperature from 0 to +10 ⁰C.
  • In the “Freezer” mode, the device operates at temperatures from -12 to -24 ⁰C.

STORING FOODS

  • Operate the freezer with the thermostat control knob set to the maximum position for 2 to 3 hours before placing food into the freezer to obtain the lowest possible temperature in the freezer chamber.
  • After that time, the thermostat control knob should be set to the medium position.
  • It is not recommended to open the lid of the freezer too often or to leave it open for a prolonged time.
  • The freezer chamber is designed for long-term storage of frozen foods. Foods can be stored for up to three months.

Centek CT-4001 Chest Freezer-FAQs

Q1. How does a chest freezer work?

The Centek CT-4001 uses a refrigeration cycle where the compressor pressurizes refrigerant, which cools in condenser coils, then flows through the evaporator to absorb heat—keeping the freezer interior below freezing.

Q2. What do the numbers on the freezer’s thermostat mean?

The dial usually ranges from 1 (warmest) to 7 (coldest). A mid-setting like 4 is ideal for safe food storage. Turning the dial to OFF will shut down the compressor.

Q3. What is the best temperature setting for a chest freezer?

Set your freezer to 0°F (-18°C) to keep food safely frozen and preserve quality.

Q4. Should the green light be on all the time?

No, the green light cycles on and off as the freezer maintains the set temperature. This is normal and helps save energy.

Q5. What does the red light on the freezer mean?

The red indicator is a high-temperature alarm. It turns on when the freezer is still too warm, such as right after plugging in or if the lid was left open.

Q6. How often should I defrost the Centek CT-4001?

Defrost the freezer at least once a year, or whenever ice buildup reaches about ¼ inch thick.

Q7. How can I prevent freezer burn on food?

Use airtight containers, set the freezer at 0°F, limit door openings, and avoid thawing and refreezing food.

Q8. How do I know if my chest freezer is working properly?

Check that food remains frozen solid, the compressor cycles normally, and indicator lights function. Unusual noises, excessive frost, or warm food may signal a problem.
