READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, serious personal injury, and property damage, please note the following:
- This product is not intended for use by children. Keep the product out of the reach of children and pets. Extra caution is necessary when using this appliance near children.
- Always ensure the product is unplugged from the electrical outlet and allowed to cool before assembling, disassembling, relocating, or cleaning it.
- Please do not leave the product unattended while it is in use. Always unplug the product from the electrical outlet when not in use.
- Do not immerse the Appliance, Power Cord, or Plug of this product in orexpose the Power Cord or Plug to water or other liquids.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs when handling product. Use protective oven mittens or gloves when removing the Lid or handling hot containers to avoid burns or personal injury.
- Take proper precautions to prevent burns, fire, or personal or property damage, as this appliance generates heat and steam during use.
- Do not use attachments that are not recommended or sold by the product manufacturer. Attachments, when furnished, may become hot during use. Allow any attachments to cool before handling them.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, in a heated oven, other heated surfaces.
- Use extreme caution when moving an appliance containing hot food, water, or other liquids.
- Use the product in a well-ventilated area. Keep at least 4-6 inches of space on all sides of the product to allow adequate air circulation.
- Use the appliance on a table or flat surface.
- Keep the product away from curtains, wall coverings, clothing, dish towels, or other flammable materials.
- Do not plug or unplug the product from the electrical outlet with a wet hand.
- This product is intended solely for non-commercial, non-industrial, household use in cooking food for human consumption; do not use the product outdoors or for any other purpose.
- Do not operate the product empty.
- Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter where it may be tripped over or pulled. Do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces.
- Do not operate the product if it has a damaged or cut Power Cord or plug, if wires are exposed, if it malfunctions, if it is dropped or damaged, or if the Motor Housing is dropped in or exposed to water.
- This product has no user-serviceable parts.
- Do not attempt to examine or repair this product yourself. Only qualified service personnel should perform any servicing; the product to the appliance repair shop of your choice for inspection and repair.
- Do not put any stress on the power cord where it connects to the product, as the power cord could fray and break.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
- Oversized foods, foil packages, plastic packages, and utensils must not be inserted in the toaster as they present a risk of fire or electric shock.
- Do not attempt to dislodge food when the toaster is plugged into an electrical outlet.
- Clean out the accumulated crumbs frequently to avoid the risk of fire or malfunction. Do not use food that will drip coatings or fillings when heated. These can cause unsanitary conditions and increase the possibility of fire or malfunction.
- A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord is not recommended for use with this product, but if one must be used:
- The marked electrical rating must be at least as great as that of the product.t;
- If the product is of a 3-prong grounding type, the extension cord must be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.
- Arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over or pulled.
- A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord is not recommended for use with this product, but if one must be used:
WARNING: This product is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other blade) to reduce the risk of electrical shock. This is a safety feature. The plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If you are unable to insert the plug into the electrical outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use the plug with an extension cord unless you can fully insert the plug into the extension cord. Do not alter the plug. Do not attempt to defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.

Before First Use
IMPORTANT: Please check all packaging material carefully before discarding, as there may be accessory parts contained within the packaging material.
WARNING: Do not place any part of the product in a dishwasher.
Using Your Toaster:
- Check the toast slots for any remaining packaging. Be sure slots are completely clear before use.
- Place the toaster on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface away from the edge and at least 3 inches away from the wall or back of the counter.
- Make sure the bread carriage lever is in the up position.
- Unwind the power cord and plug it into an outlet. Run the toaster empty through 1 full cycle to allow the new element to preheat and burn off any dust that may have accumulated during assembly. Attention: First use may cause a slight odor or small smoke upon heating, which is normal. This is a result of the heating element’s chemical reactions. It quickly goes away.
- With the bread carriage in the up position, insert the slice(s) you would like to toast.
- Turn the browning control knob to desired position. The higher the number, the darker the toast (1-6).
- Press the carriage lever down until it locks into position
- When the toaster cycle is completed, the toast rises automatically.
Note: To Stop the toasting cycle before it is completed simply rotate theControl Knob around past the 1 to the Stop feature.
- When heating is complete, unplug the product from the electrical outlet.WARNING: Always unplug the product from the electrical outlet when it is not in use or will be left unattended.
- Never wrap the power cord around the outside of the toaster. The power cord should be wrapped around the cord storage cavity underneath the toaster.
Toasting Tips:
Toasting times may vary depending on the moisture level of the bread you are toasting.
- For slightly DRY bread, use a lower setting (1-3) on the Browning ControlKnob.
- FRESH bread or WHOLE WHEAT bread use a higher setting (4-6) on thebrowning control knob.
- ENGLISH MUFFINS will require a higher setting (4-6) on the browningcontrol knob.
- Thick cuts of bread like BAGELS take longer to toast since more moisture must be evaporated from the bread before toasting occurs.
- Some very thick cuts of bread may require two toasting cycles.
- If you toast bread with pieces of fruit, please remove all loose pieces before toasting. These can fall into the toaster or stick to the guard wires.
- Before toasting bagels, slice them into two halves; place them in the toaster with the cut sides facing each other.
- For Toasting a single slice, use a lower setting (1-3) on the browningcontrol knob.
- Use caution when toasting pastries as their fillings can become very hot before the surface of the pastry becomes brown.
Cleaning Your Toaster:
WARNING: Always unplug the product and allow it to cool before cleaning or storing it.
NOTICE: Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Simply wipe the exterior of the toaster with a clean, damp cloth and dry it thoroughly. If a cleaning solution is used, apply it to a clean cloth and not directly onto the toaster.
- This toaster does not have a Crumb Tray. To remove crumbs, unscrew the bottom of the toaster with a flat-head screwdriver and wipe it clean, and replace it. Never operate the toaster without the crumb holder in place.
- To remove bread caught in the toaster, unplug it from the outlet, turn the toaster upside down, and shake gently. Never insert any hard or sharp object into the toaster.
- DO NOT IMMERSE THIS TOASTER.
