  2. Move the washer to within approximately 3 feet (90 cm) of the final location,
  3. Prop up the rear of the washer about 4 in. (10.2 cm) with a wood block or similar object. The block needs to support the weight of the washer.

  5. Run water through both faucets and inlet hoses, into a bucket or laundry tub, to get rid of particles in the water lines that might clog the inlet valve screens

Level the Washer

Properly leveling your washer prevents excessive noise and vibration.

  1. Check the levelness of the washer by placing a level on the top edge of the washer, first side-to-side, then front-to-back.If the washer is against a wall, move the washer out slightly before tipping it back. If the washer is not level, prop up the front of the washer with the wood block and adjust the feet up or down as necessary. Repeat this step until the washer is level.
  2. After the washer is in the final location and level, use a %ein. (1.43 cm) open-end wrench to turn the nuts on the feet tightly against the washer cabinet. If the nuts are not tight against the washer cabinet, the washer may vibrate.
  3. Tilt the washer forward until the rear of the washer is at least 4 in. (10.2 cm) off the floor. You may hear the self-adjusting rear feet click into place. Lower the washer to the floor.

Complete Installation

  1. Check the electrical requirements. Be sure that you have the correct electrical supply and the recommended grounding method. (See “Electrical Requirements.”)
  2. Check to be sure all parts are now installed. If there is an extra part, go back through the steps to see which step was skipped.
  3. Check to be sure you have all of your tools.
  4. Dispose/recycle all packaging materials. Keep the expanded foam plug for use if the washer should be transported.
  5. Check to be sure the water faucets are on.

Starting Your Washer

The following is a guide to starting your washer. Periodic references to other sections of this manual provide more detailed information.

  1. Place a load of sorted clothes into the washer. Load to a level shown below. (See “Loading.”)Kenmore 11022066100 110 Series Automatic Washer-11
  2. Pour measured powdered or liquid detergent into the detergent dispenser.Kenmore 11022066100 110 Series Automatic Washer-12
    • For best performance use High Efficiency detergents. The package for this type of detergent will be marked “HE” or High Efficiency.” The new wash action of CALYPSO TM along with less water, could create too much sudsing with a regular detergent. HE detergents like TIDE ® HE are made to produce the right amount of suds for the best performance. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to determine the amount of detergent to use.
    • If High Efficiency detergent is not available, use a reduced amount of regular laundry detergent.
    • NOTE: You can add color-safe bleach (liquid or powdered) to this dispenser as well.

Cycles

Use these pads to choose the right wash cycle for the type of fabrics you are washing.Kenmore 11022066100 110 Series Automatic Washer-13

  • For most loads, use the time recommended in the preset cycle settings.
  • For heavy soil and sturdy fabrics, use more wash time.
  • For light soil and delicate fabrics, use less wash time.

HEAVY DUTY

  • Use this cycle to get 19 to 23 minutes of wash time for loads of sturdy, colorfast fabrics such as work clothes. The cycle combines high-speed wash action and high spin speed. The preset cycle wash time is 23 minutes. Stain Treat is the default option for this cycle, but it can be turned off. (See “Changing Cycles, Options
    and Modifiers.”)
  • NORMAL
  • Use this cycle to get 12 to 16 minutes of wash time for normally soiled cottons and linens. The cycle combines medium-speed wash action and high spin speed. The preset cycle wash time is 14 minutes.
  • JEANS/COLORS
  • Use this cycle to get 14 to 18 minutes of wash time for dark, colored items that may run or fade. Cycle combines low/medium speed wash action and high-speed final spin. The preset cycle wash time is 16 minutes.

LAUNDRY TIPS

Preparing clothes for washing

Follow these recommendations to help you prolong the life of your garments.

  • Close zippers, snaps, and hooks to avoid snagging other items. Remove pins, buckles, and other hard objects to avoid scratching the washer interior. Remove non-washable trim and ornaments.
  • Empty pockets and turn them inside out.
  • Turn down cuffs; brush away lint and dirt.
  • Turn synthetic knits inside-out to avoid pilling.
  • Tie strings and sashes so they will not tangle.
  • Mend tears, loose hems, and seams.
  • Treat spots and stains.
  • Stained or wet garments should be washed promptly for best results.
  • Sorting
  • Separate heavily soiled items from lightly soiled ones, even if they would normally be washed together. Separate lint-givers (towels, chenille) from lint-takers (corduroy, synthetics, permanent press). When possible, turn lint-givers inside out.
  • Separate dark colors from light colors, and colorfast items from non-colorfast items.
  • Sort by fabric and construction (sturdy cotton, knits, delicate items).

WASHER CARE

Cleaning Your Washer

  • Cleaning the exterior
  • Use a soft, damp cloth or sponge to wipe up any spills such as detergent or bleach. Occasionally wipe the outside of your washer to keep it looking new.
  • Cleaning the interior
  • To clean your washer interior, add 1 cup (250 mL) of chlorine bleach and 1 scoop or cap full of detergent into your dispenser, and run the washer through the NORMAL cycle using hot water. Repeat this process if necessary.

Kenmore 11022066100 110 Series Automatic Washer-FAQs

Why won’t my Kenmore washer start?

Your washer may not start due to a power supply issue, a faulty outlet, or a malfunctioning door switch that prevents it from recognizing the door as closed.

How does a washing machine work step by step?

The washer fills with water and detergent, then the agitator moves the clothes to loosen dirt. An electric motor and transmission power the movement. After washing, the water drains, and the spin cycle removes excess moisture.

How long does a Kenmore washer take to complete a wash cycle?

A normal wash cycle typically lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour, but this may vary based on load size and soil level.

Why won’t my washer start when I press the start button?

Possible causes include a power issue, faulty start switch, door lock malfunction, or control panel failure. Ensure the washer is plugged in and receiving power.

Why does my Kenmore washer shut off mid-cycle?

A defective door lock may cause the washer to stop if it fails to secure properly. This issue can be mechanical or electrical, so inspect the door lock for any damage.

How do I reset my Kenmore washer?

Unplug the washer for at least one minute, then plug it back in. If the issue persists, the control board may need replacement.

Is it normal for a wash cycle to take 2 hours?

Yes, certain cycles like Heavy Duty can take between 1 to 2 hours, especially when washing heavily soiled clothes.

What is the average lifespan of a Kenmore washer?

Kenmore washers typically last 10-12 years, though newer models may not be as durable as older versions.

What is Kenmore Connect?

Kenmore Connect is a digital diagnostic system available on select Kenmore washers and dryers. It provides real-time troubleshooting assistance by transmitting diagnostic data to customer service representatives.

How does the washer lid switch work?

The lid switch detects whether the lid is securely closed before starting the wash cycle. If the lid is open, the washer will not operate for safety reasons.

Can I run my washer without any clothes inside?

Yes, running an empty cycle with warm water is recommended for cleaning and maintenance.

Why is my Kenmore washer not draining?

Common causes include a clogged drain hose, broken drain pump, or a faulty door lock assembly that prevents water from exiting properly.
