Ciarra HOOD TO GO portable range hood-FAQs
How does the Ciarra HOOD TO GO portable range hood work?
It uses a ductless recirculation system that pulls in cooking air, filters out grease, smoke, and odors, and then releases clean air back into the room.
Do portable range hoods actually work?
Yes, portable range hoods are effective at reducing smoke, grease, and cooking odors, especially in small kitchens, apartments, RVs, or temporary setups.
What type of ventilation does the Ciarra HOOD TO GO use?
This model is ventless (ductless) and relies on grease and charcoal filters instead of venting air outside.
How far should the portable range hood be from the cooktop?
For best performance, place the hood 20–24 inches above electric cooktops and 24–30 inches above gas cooktops.
What happens if the range hood is placed too low?
Installing it too close can restrict airflow, reduce efficiency, and may cause overheating or safety risks—especially over gas burners.
How do I know if the range hood is working properly?
You should notice reduced smoke and odors. You can also test suction by holding a piece of paper near the intake—it should stick lightly.
How do I clean the Ciarra HOOD TO GO filters?
Remove the grease filter and wash it with warm soapy water. Charcoal filters should be replaced periodically, not washed.
How often should I clean the portable range hood?
If used daily, clean the filters once a month. For light use, cleaning every 2–3 months is usually sufficient.
